CTC 139 – Everyday Occasions – Pages 18-67

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog.  I must start off with an apology for last week.  Kelly was before me in the blog hop and she promised my assistant Marvi would be helping me with my card.  He had spent the day in the garden helping me so when I was taking pictures of my card he was too tired for a photo shoot.    Marvi says sorry, he will try not to disappoint anyone again.

Marvi in Wheelbarrow

This week at CASEing the Catty our inspiration comes from the “Everyday Occasions” section of the Catalogue, pages 18-67.

CTC139

Yet again, so many beautiful cards in this section to CASE.  I decided on the “Friend” card on the right hand side of this picture from page 47.

Annual Catalogue Page 47

I’ve only used the layout of this card for my CASE as I don’t have the stamp set or the DSP used in the sample.  That’s how easy it is to CASE from the Catalogue.  Pick a design that you like and use what you have to CASE it.  Simple!!

Stampin' Cat CTC139 This Little Piggy

This is my first time using This Little Piggy stamp set.   I’ve used Eastern Palace DSP and some gold 1/8″ ribbon.

Stampin' Cat CTC139 This Little Piggy

I coloured my piggy with Blushing Bride ink and an Aqua Painter.  I’ve used Lovely Words Thinlits for the word “friend” and added in some Washi Tape from the Basics Pack 3

Stampin' Cat CTC139 Lovely Words

This is such a cute little piggy.  How could he not make you happy?

Marvi

Marvi is that your happy face?

Thanks for visiting today, next up is the very talented Sandra, I’m sure you’re going to love her project.  She’s used my favourite DSP on her card.

#JOS002 Challenge – The Letter “S”

Joy of Sets Winner

#JOS002

Hi everyone and welcome to my blog.  Today’s card is for The Joy of Sets Challenge #JOS002.  I had so much fun joining into their first challenge I decided to play along again.

Every 2 weeks there is a new challenge.  You may use any Stampin’ Up! stamp set, new or retired, but there’s a twist.   There will be a new letter selected each fortnight and that letter must be in the name of the stamp set you use.  For this challenge the letter is “S”.

Stampin' Cat #JOS002 Sunshine Sayings

I’ve made a Shaker card using the Sunshine Sayings stamp set and the matching Sunshine Wishes Thinlits Dies.

Stampin' Cat #JOS002 Sunshine Sayings

I’ve used Night of Navy, Tangerine Tango and Smokey Slate (more “S” words lol) cardstock.  Stampin’ Up! Foam Adhesive Strips and Window Sheets are perfect for making Shaker Cards.

Stampin' Cat #JOS002 Sunshine Sayings

I’ve used Silver Sequins to fill my Shaker card.  I’ve stamped the word “sending” in Tangerine Tango and die cut “sunshine” in Night of Navy.

I hope you like my entry for the challenge.  I’d love if you left me a comment.

CTC 138 – Holidays – Pages 112-125

Hello and welcome to this weeks CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop.   We are CASEing the Holiday section of the Catalogue, pages 112-125.

CTC 138

I don’t usually do Christmas in July so I’ve chosen to CASE the “Thanks Friend” card on page 124.  I plan to give this card to a wonderful friend who drove all the way to the Gold Coast with me on Monday.  I had an interview to become a volunteer at the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.  And guess what……I was selected!!!  Woohoo

I love the way the leaf has been done on this card.  The Catalogue even tells you how they’ve achieved this effect.  “Layer strips of cardstock then cut out a shape with the Leaflets Framelits Dies”.   Too easy!!  I don’t own the Leaflets Framelits Dies so I used the leaf from Seasonal Layers Thinlits.

CTC 138 Stampin' Cat Embossing Paste

I’ve finally had a chance to play with my Embossing Paste.  Why have I waited so long to actually use it????   It’s so much fun and super easy.  I love the dimension this gives my card after sponging it in Sahara Sand.

CTC 138 Stampin' Cat Embossing Paste

I’ve used Early Espresso, Cajun Craze, Always Artichoke and So Saffron as layers for my leaves.

CTC 138 Stampin' Cat Embossing Paste

I think the Copper Foil Sheet really suits the colours of my card.  I’ve used Lovely Words Thinlits for the sentiment “friend” and “wonderful” is from the Tabs for Everything stamp set.

Thanks for joining me again for CASEing the Catty Blog Hop.  Next up is Bronwyn, I know you’re just going to love her creation.  Make sure you hop around all of the team members and don’t forget to leave some love.

Colour INKspiration Challenge CI13

Colour INKspiration Top 5 Pick

Stampin' Cat Eastern Beauty CI13

Hi everyone and welcome to my blog.  Today’s card is for the Colour INKspiration Challenge CI13.  The colours for this challenge are Sweet Sugarplum, Wild Wasabi, Lemon Lime Twist and Fresh Fig.  We can also use any neutrals such as Whisper White, Basic Black, Crumb Cake, Sahara Sand and Metallics.

CI13

These beautiful colours would suit any kind of flower, especially the Climbing Orchid, but that set is still on my wish list.  I’ve had the Eastern Palace Bundle for a while now but I’ve really only used the dies in this set.  It was time to create something with the stamps.

Stampin' Cat Eastern Beauty CI13

I wasn’t sure at first that these colours would actually go together but I love how this card has turned out.

Stampin' Cat Eastern Beauty CI13

If I’m not using neutral colours I’m slightly out of my colour comfort zone lol.  That’s what I like so much about the INKspiration Challenges, they make me think about colour.

Stampin' Cat Eastern Beauty CI13

I’ve given the inside of the card a little bit of love as well.

I hope you like my card today.

Thanks for stopping by.

CTC 137 – Artistic Expression – Pages 132-181

Hi everyone and welcome to my very first CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop as a Design Team Crew Member!!!  I’m very excited to join the team.  I had been playing along with a few of the challenges previously.   I’ve really enjoyed putting my spin on some of the beautiful creations in the catalogue.

CTC 137

This week’s CASE is the Artistic Expression section featured on pages 132-181.

There were so many wonderful ideas to case this week I had a hard time choosing.  I decided on the Birthday card on page 149.

Page 149

I made my card the standard C6 size and I changed it up slightly.

Stampin' Cat Butterfly Basics Timeless Textures

I’ve added a layer of Basic Black Cardstock to my card and I’ve made the sentiment smaller.

Stampin' Cat Butterfly Basics Timeless Textures

I’ve heat embossed the flowers from Butterfly Basics in White and the fern in gold.  If you look really closely at the white flowers you might notice they are a bit lighter in colour?   I’ve filled my Aqua Painter with bleach and just painted it on my flowers.

Stampin' Cat Butterfly Basics Timeless Textures

I’ve also heat embossed the edges of my card with gold embossing powder.  I used the Timeless Textures stamp set.  And of course I added some bling with some Mini Gold Sequins.

Thanks for joining me for CASEing the Catty this week.  Phew…..my first blog hop done and dusted.

Next up is Julia, I’m sure she has created something fabulous.  Make sure you hop around all of the team members and don’t forget to leave some love.

#JOS001 Challenge – The Letter “F”

The Joy of Sets challenge f

Hi everyone and welcome to my blog.  Today I’m sharing a card that I made for The Joy of Sets Challenge.  This is their very first challenge and I’m excited to be playing along.

Every 2 weeks there is a new challenge.  You may use any Stampin’ Up! stamp set, new or retired, but there’s a twist.   There will be a new letter selected each fortnight and that letter must be in the name of the stamp set you use.  For this challenge the letter is “F”.

Stampin' Cat Floral Statements

I’ve use the new stamp set Floral Statements.  I’ve only just got this stamp set and this is the first card I’ve made with it.

Stampin' Cat Floral Statements

Don’t you just love the colours?  I tried a new technique called the Baby Wipe technique.  Can you see what I’m doing here…….new challenge, new stamp set, new technique…….

Baby Wipe Technique

I folded up 3 baby wipes and put them in my embossing tray so I didn’t make a big mess lol.   Then I squeezed ink from my re-inkers onto the baby wipe then used the baby wipe like an ink pad.  The colours I’ve used are Wisteria Wonder, Bermuda Bay, Pool Party and Sahara Sand.

I hope you like my entry for the challenge.  I’d love if you left me a comment.

ESAD Favourites from the 2017/2018 Annual Stampin’ Up! Catalogue Blog Hop

ESAD Blog Hop

Thanks for joining me today along with 24 Stampin’ Up! demos.  We are showcasing our Favourites from the 2017/2018 Annual Catalogue.  If you came from the lovely Amity Knight, thanks for continuing on to me.  I hope you take time to make your way around the entire hop.   Once you’ve finished on my page click on the next button and hop on to Megan’s fabulous creations.

2017/2018 catalogue Stampin' Up!

It’s so hard to pick a favourite from this Catalogue.  My list of favourites grows every time I look on Pinterest or Facebook.  Who says you can only have one favourite???

So I looked through my Catalogue and when I got to page 96 my heart said I needed to use Ribbon of Courage as my favourite today.  This stamp set was inspired by Million $ Sales Achiever Patty Bennett.

Ribbon of Courage

So many people are affected by cancer.  Cancer recently took the life of my brother-in-law.  Four out of five members of my immediate family have survived cancer.  In 2012 I was diagnosed with Lymphoma and just last Tuesday I had my oncology checkup.  I’ve been in remission for nearly 5 years now.   So this is why I’ve chosen Ribbon of Courage as my favourite.

Each type of cancer is represented by a different coloured ribbon.  Lymphoma is Lime so I made a card using the new Lemon Lime Twist (this happens to be my favourite new In-Colour)

Stamping Cat Ribbon of Courage

I love the simplicity of this card.  Lemon Lime Twist, Basic Black and Whisper White.

Stamping Cat Ribbon of Courage

I’ve coloured the little hearts on the ribbon with my Lemon Lime Twist Stampin’ Write Marker.

Next I thought I’d make a pink card which represents Breast cancer.

Stamping Cat Ribbon of Courage

I used Melon Mambo Water Colour Pencil and an Aqua Painter for the background.  This is my “Angel” using the die cut ribbon.

Stamping Cat Ribbon of Courage

I’ve used Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper as all “Angels” deserve to shine.

In my last card I’ve used Gold for Children’s cancer.

Stamping Cat Ribbon of Courage

I’ve heat embossed the ribbon in Gold embossing powder.  I’ve also used some of my favourite DSP, Bundle of Love.

Stamping Cat Ribbon of Courage

Now my ESAD Blog wouldn’t be complete without a picture of my assistant Marvi the Monster.   I don’t think he liked my angel because he pushed it off the table.

Marvi Marvi

I hope that you have enjoyed the cards I’ve made today.  Please feel free to leave me a comment.  Make sure you click on the next button and hop over to Megan’s inspiring project.

CTC 135 – Holidays – Pages 112-125

Stamping Cat Wood Textures Eastern Medallions Bundle of Love

This week’s CASEing the Catty’s Challenge is to CASE a card from the Holiday section of the 2017/2018 Occasions Catalogue pages 112-125.

CTC 135

I decided to CASE the cute little bag on page 119.

Annual p119

I recently bought the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits and I wanted to try them out on my favourite DSP, Wood Textures.

Stamping Cat Wood Textures Eastern Medallions Bundle of Love

I’ve used my second favourite DSP, Bundle of Love, for the banner and die cut a cute flower from Eastern Medallions.  I’ve added a sentiment from the Santa’s Sleigh stamp set and some Mini Gold Sequin Trim.  Too much gold????

Colour INKspiration Challenge CI12

Colour INKspiration Top 5 Pick

Stampin' Cat Bouquet Bunch Jar of Love

Hi and welcome to my blog.  Today’s card is for the Colour INKspiration Challenge CI12.  This time we had 7 colours in the palette as well as Whisper White.  We had to use at least 4 or more of the colours in our card. Those that know me know I like a challenge so I’ve made a card with all 8 of the colours.

CI12

Our colours are Whisper White, Night of Navy, Elegant Eggplant, Cherry Cobbler, Flirty Flamingo, Dapper Denim, Smoky Slate and Peekaboo Peach.  Wow, so many colours to put together but I think I made it work.

Stampin' Cat Bouquet Bunch Jar of Love

I’ve used the new Bouquet Bunch Framelits combined with Everyday Jars Framelits.  I’ve die cut Bouquet Bunch flowers from 6 of the colours from our colour palette.

Stampin' Cat Bouquet Bunch Jar of Love

The main stem of these flowers was die cut in Smoky Slate but once I attached all of my flowers you couldn’t see it so I added a Smokey Slate leaf behind the flower that’s fallen out of the jar.

Stampin' Cat Bouquet Bunch Jar of Love

I’ve also tied some Linen Thread around the top of my jar and added some Gold Mini Sequin Trim.  These Mini Sequins are so cute, I can see me using a lot of these.

Thanks for stopping by.
