CTC 133 – Love & Sympathy – Pages 86-101

Stampin' Cat Marbled Bloomin' HeartStampin' Up!

This weeks CTC Challenge is to CASE the Love & Sympathy section of the 20107/2018 Annual Catalogue.  I found it difficult this week as there’s so many beautiful cards in this section.  I didn’t know which one to CASE!

CTC 133

I decided to case the “Love is in the Air” card on page 88.

Stamping' Up!

I’ve CASEd the design but changed the colours.  I thought this card would look great in some of the new In Colours.  I used Powder Pink, Berry Burst and Fresh Fig for my flowers.

Stampin' Cat Marbled Blooming' Heart Stamping' Up!

I love how you can see through the Bloomin’ Heart.  The new Marbled Background stamp looks amazing in Pool Party ink.

Stampin' Cat Marbled Blooming' Heart Stamping' Up!

I die cut a Heart out of my card base then attached a beautiful Blooming’ Heart behind it.  I die cut another Blooming’ Heart out of Whisper White then used the small butterfly die from the Butterflies Thinlits to cut a butterfly out of my heart.  Then I attached that to a Powder Pink butterfly.  So the pattern on my butterfly is the same as the pattern of the heart.

Stampin' Cat Marbled Blooming' Heart Stamping' Up!

The sentiment is from Number of Years stamp set.  If you look really closely you’ll also see some Silver Metallic Thread behind the butterfly.

I love the Challenges at CTC.  I’d never really noticed this card in the catalogue before.  I like how this card turned out so much everyone will be making it in my  class this week.  I hope they like it as much as I do.

Thanks for stopping by.

Stampin' Cat Lovely Words Flourish Thinlits Stampin' Up!

Hi, and welcome to my blog.  Today’s card is for the Colour INKspiration Challenge CI11.  The challenge colours are Soft Suede, Early Espresso and Marina Mist.  I feel right at home with these colours, especially on an overcast rainy day like today.

CI11

My card base is Early Espresso and I’ve layered that with Marina Mist stamped in Soft Suede ink with the Hardwood background stamp.

CTC 131 – Everyday Occasions – Pages 18-67

Stampin' Cat Wood Textures Eastern Medallions Stampin' Up!I haven’t submitted anything for CASEing the Catty Challenge for a few weeks as I’ve been super busy working towards a Stampin’ Day Retreat. A couple of my good SU friends and I are holding this event on 10th June.  I’ve surprised myself by having this under control and I’ve still got 5 days until the big event so I thought “let’s get back into the CTC Challenges”.

The crew at CASEing the Catty Design Team are looking for more Crew members.  You need to join in with their June Challenges and make sure you mention you’re interested in applying.  Well, I’m definitely interested.  I really like these challenges as you can CASE 100% from the Catalogue or you can use your creativity to come up with something completely different.

This weeks challenge is to CASE something from the Everyday Occasions section, pages 18-67, of the new 2017/2018 Annual Catalogue.

CTC131

I’ve chosen to CASE the “Shell” card on page 39.

Annual Catalogue p39

I don’t have the So Many Shells stamp set so I improvised.  I stamped the square floral image from Window Shopping onto some Whisper White card stock then die cut some patterned circles with Eastern Medallions Thinlits.

Stampin' Cat Wood Textures Eastern Medallions Stampin' Up!

I’ve used Wood Textures DSP as my background then I’ve used the Hardwood stamp on vellum and heat embossed the image with White embossing powder.

Stampin' Cat Wood Textures Eastern Medallions Stampin' Up!

I’ve used Powder Pink, Soft Sky and Pumpkin Pie inks.  Powder Pink is a new 2017/2019 In Colour.  It’s such a delicate pretty pink.  I’ve also added a Linen Thread bow.

I just love how this card has turned out.  I hope you love it too.

Thanks for stopping by.

Colour INKspiration Challenge CI10

CI10

I’ve designed a card for the latest Colour INkspiration Challenge CI10.  The Challenge requires you to use Cajun Craze, Island Indigo, Smoky Slate and Delightful Dijon.  We can also use any neutral colours and metallics.

Bouncing Brayer Stampin' Up!

I’ve used the Bouncing Brayer technique with Cajun Craze and Delightful Dijon ink to create the background of the card.  I stamped the little bird from Swirly Bird in archival black ink and he’s sitting on a Island Indigo die cut branch from Everyday Jars.  My card base is Smoky Slate with a Basic Black matt.

I hope you like my project.  I’d love you to leave me a comment.

2017/2018 catalogue Stampin' Up!

Anyone that knows me knows I love earthy colours and texture so when I saw the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack I knew it would become a favourite.  This DSP is perfect to use with the Wood Crate Framelits but I thought it would also look great on cards.  I’ve paired it with the new Lovely Words Thinlits and the Stitched Shapes Framelits.

Wood Textures Lovely Words Stampin' Up!

Wood Textures Stampin' Up!

I’ve made the DSP the hero of the card.  I just love the texture of this piece.  I also added some to the inside.  I couldn’t stop there because the other side of this piece of DSP is just as amazing.

Wood Textures Lovely Words Stampin' Up!

Wood Textures Lovely Words Stampin' Up!

These cards were so quick and easy to make I thought “what else can I come up with using the Wood Textures DSP”.  I’m usually struggling to have one idea for a blog hop.  This hop I had to limit myself to four ideas lol

Wood Textures Lovely Words Stampin' Up!

How gorgeous is this new In Colour, Lemon Lime Twist?

Wood Textures Lovely Words Stampin' Up!

Or do you prefer Berry Burst?  I love how the Stitched Shapes Framelits co-ordinate so well with the Lovely Word Thinlits.

My assistant Marvi didn’t really have a favourite card as none of them had any Twine or Ribbon on them that he could pull off.  I think he was more interested in the camera today.

Now it’s time to hop over to Sandra’s blog and check out her beautiful project.  Just click on the next button.

Colour INKspiration Challenge C109

Colour INKspiration C109

Here’s my design for the Colour INKspiration Challenge C109.  This time the challenge requires you to use Cherry Cobbler, Dapper Denim and Pool Party.  We can also use any neutral colours and metallics.

Wood Crate Daisy Delight Stampin' Up!

I haven’t made a card for this challenge, I’ve made a small crate with note cards.  I’ve used Serene Scenery DSP for my Wooden Crate.  The Pool Party wood grain pattern is perfect for the challenge.

Wood Crate Daisy Delight Stampin' Up!

I’ve made 3 little note cards to go in my wood crate and added some envelopes as well.

Wood Crate Daisy Delight Stampin' Up!

I’ve used a clear block stamped in Pool Party to create the background behind the daisy.  I think the small daisies stamped on the envelopes look super cute.

This weeks Challenge is to CASE your favourite retiring product from the Annual Catalogue

CTC 127

I’ve chosen to CASE the “Thanks To You” card on page 88 of the Occasions Catalogue

Beautiful Banners Stampin' Up!

I’ve changed the card to Pool Party card stock.

Beautiful Banners Stampin' Up!

I’ve also changed the embellishments on the banner, using Flourish Thinlits in Silver Foil behind the sentiment.

I love the border stamped on the sentiment, it matches the stamping on the card.

ESAD Eastern Palace Suite Blog Hop

ESAD Eastern Palace Suite Blog Hop

Thanks for joining me and 21 other demonstrators on ESAD’s Eastern Palace Suite Blog Hop.  You may have hopped over to me after seeing Cheryl’s great project.  When you’re finished on my page make sure you click on the next button and hop over to Maree’s project.  I’m sure you don’t want to miss out on any of these amazing creations.

Today we are highlighting the Eastern Palace Suite, available to purchase 1-31st May 2017.  Stampin’ Up! have released these products one month ahead of the new catalogue launch.  There are 2 Bundles available to purchase, the Starter Bundle or the Premier Bundle

Eastern Palace Bundles

The Starter Bundle come with a FREE pack of Very Vanilla Note Cards and Envelopes and the Premier Bundle come with a FREE pack of Very Vanilla C6 Envelopes and a pack of Very Vanilla Thick Cardstock.  Who doesn’t love something for free?

My project uses the Window Box Thinlit Dies as well as the Eastern Medallions Thinlit Dies.  They work well together as the Eastern Medallions Dies fit perfectly with the Window Box Die.

Window Box Thinlit Die Eastern Palace Suite Stampin' Up!

I’ve used Smoky Slate for my Window Box and embellished it with Basic Black and Lemon Lime Twist.

Eastern Medallions Stampin' Up!

Eastern Medallions Stampin' Up!

I’ve alternated the die cuts on the side of the Window Box.  I’ve also added in some stamping from the Eastern Beauty Stamp Set in Basic Black and Lemon Lime Twist and finished off each side with a Basic Rhinestone.

Window Box Thinlits Eastern Medallions Thinlits Stampin' Up!

My assistant Marvi was on hand for the photo shoot.  He inspected the box only to find nothing in it.  In fact, I think he poked his tongue out at it.

I had seen an amazing blog from Tricia Raineri and she had made some hexagonal cards to go in the Window Box.  I CASEd her idea and made 3 matching cards.

Eastern Palace Suite Stampin' Up!

Here is a picture of the box and matching cards together.

Eastern Palace Suite Stampin' Up!

Marvi wasn’t sold on the cards, judging by the look on his face, but I think they’re cute.  There was a bird on the fence that was much more interesting for him to look at.

Now it’s time to hop over to Maree’s blog and check out her wonderful project.

Thank’s for stopping by, I’d love if you left me a comment.

Colour INKspiration Challenge C108

Colour INKspiration C108

I’ve designed a card for the Colour INKspiration Challenge C108.  This Challenge requires you to use Delightful Dijon, Tip Top Taupe, Soft Suede, Early Espresso and Very Vanilla.  We are also welcome to add in any other neutral colour and metallics.

Urban Underground Stampin Up

In todays card class we made a card very similar to this one.  I changed the colours slightly to fit the brief for this challenge.  I started with Soft Suede as my card base then added layers of Delightful Dijon and Tip Top Taupe.  I used Urban Underground DSP layered on Very Vanilla.  I am so sad this DSP is retiring.

Urban Underground Stampin Up

I stamped my sentiment in Early Espresso and added an Urban Underground Embellishment to the top left hand corner.

I hope you like my card.  I’d love you to leave me a comment.
