Hello and welcome to my blog. We have a sketch challenge this week at CASEing The Catty. The sketch is based on a card on page 38 of the Mini Catty. I love a sketch challenge as it’s a great starting point and you can use whatever you have to create a card that’s totally your style.

I made a card similar to this one in my last class. I loved it so much I thought I could re-create it using the sketch to change it up a bit. The card base is Soft Suede with a layer of Crumb Cake. I’ve used the Elegant Eucalyptus embossing folder on the Crumb Cake layer. Next I’ve die cut some gorgeous Dry Brushed Metallic SDSP using the Desert Details Dies. This SDSP is just stunning, my photos don’t do it justice.

I added some Gold ribbon from the Gold & Silver 1/8″ Trim Combo Pack. This ribbon is an Online Exclusive, you won’t find it in any catalogue. The flower is from the Desert Details stamp set and is stamped in Soft Suede. I’ve also added a Brushed Metallic die cut behind the flower.

I got to snap a quick pic of Marvi, just before he headed out into the backyard. He knows how to use the pet door however if anyone is nearby he looks up at you with those big eyes and pleads for you to open the door.

Hello and welcome to my blog. This week we’re CASEing a Colouring Project from either Catalogue. You may have hopped over from Michelle’s blog, make sure you visit all the Design Team’s Blogs by clicking on the “next” button at the bottom of the post.

I’ve CASEd the very tropical card on the far right of page 117 of the Annual Catalogue.

I bought this background stamp to make a special card for a lady that owns a local nursery. She gave me an enormous amount of help when I was selecting the plants for my tropical backyard makeover.

My card base is Thick Basic White followed by a layer of Evening Evergreen. On a separate piece of Basic White I’ve stamped the Tropical Hideaway background stamp using Evening Evergreen ink. I’ve then coloured all of the background with a Mint Macaroon Stampin’ Blend. I’ve also used Granny Apple Green and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends to highlight some of the tropical leaves.

The sentiment is from the Around The Bend stamp set and is White Heat Embossed. I’ve used the Label Me Fancy Punch to punch out my sentiment then I’ve threaded some retired Flowers For Every Season Ribbon behind it. I’ve finished off my card with some For Everything Fancy Sequins.

I think Marvi liked my card this week as it looks like his lovely new tropical backyard. He spends hours out there sleeping under the palm trees.

Hello and welcome to my blog. This week we are CASEing an Embossing Folder Project from either catalogue. You may have hopped over from Michelle’s blog, make sure you visit all the Design Team’s Blogs by clicking on the “next” button at the bottom of the post.

The card I’ve chosen to CASE, on page 42 of the Mini Catalogue, has used the Into The Clouds embossing folder on the background. You have to look fairly closely to see it though.

I’ve used a different embossing folder, however I’ve kept very close to the layout.

Although you can’t see it, my card base is Soft Succulent followed by a Basic White layer embossed with the Painted Posies Embossing Folder. I’ve used the Desert Details Dies on a piece of Delicate Desert DSP. The leaves are die cut from Cajun Craze card stock using the Sunflower Dies. The flowers are stamped in Evening Evergreen and Soft Succulent.

The sentiment is from the Desert Details stamp set and is White Heat Embossed on Soft Succulent card stock. I’ve added a few Brushed Brass Butterflies to finish off my card.

Marvi was ready for a photo shoot. Believe it or not I captured this photo in one shot. I usually have to take several pics to get one good one.
