CTC Sunday Challenge

Hello and welcome to my blog. Can you believe we are already half way through the year? Happy EOFY (end of financial year) to everyone for tomorrow. Working in an accountants office the last few months have been hectic with clients realising they hadn’t submitted their tax returns for the 2024 financial year.

We are CASEing a Tag Sketch from page 24 of the Annual Catalogue. You may have hopped over from Andrea’s blog, make sure you visit all the Design Team’s Blogs by clicking on the “next” button at the bottom of the post.

These sketches don’t just have to be for tags. I’ve turned my project into a card.

#page24

I’ve used the sketch second from the left on the bottom row of the above graphic.

My card base is Thick Basic White followed by a layer of Lemon Lolly which has been embossed with the Forever Plaid 3D Embossing Folder. The flowers represent the circles on the tag sketch. I’ve die cut several Basic White flowers using the Impressions Abloom Dies.

The leaves are die cut in Granny Apple Green card stock and the sentiment is from the Greetings For All Mix & Match Ephemera Pack.

Marvi has been a bit put out this week with our good friend Mike, the dog, visiting us again. We also had another little visitor at yesterday’s card class with Buddy coming along with his lovely Mum, Lesley. Marvi and Buddy get on really well but Mike is much bigger and too boisterous for Marvi’s liking. They do try each other beds out and Marvi tries to sneak some of Mike’s food while I’m serving it up.

CTC Sunday Challenge

Hello and welcome to my blog. This week we are CASEing the Kintsugi Inspirations Suite from pages 58-60 of the annual catalogue. Kintsugi is a traditional Japanese technique of repairing broken pottery with gold lacquer. The mended gold veins become a celebration of imperfection instead of hiding it. You may have hopped over from Monique’s blog, make sure you visit all the Design Team’s Blogs by clicking on the “next” button at the bottom of the post.

#page58

I’ve CASEd the pink card in the above graphic however I’ve made my version of this card blue.

My card base is Secret Sea followed by a layer of Misty Moonlight which has been embossed with the Joined Together 3D embossing folder. I also embossed a piece of Gold Foil Sheet with the same embossing folder then fussy cut the gold veins and adhered it to my card. I’ve die cut a Cloud Cover vase and Gold Heat Embossed the flowers then added another Gold Foil vein to the vase.

I’ve added some Basic White flowers using the Inspiring Imperfections Dies, a Misty Moonlight sentiment and some Flower Accents embellishments.

Marvi was playing in the washing basket and I managed to capture this super cute picture.

CTC524 – Case an Annual Catalogue Technique

CTC Sunday Challenge

Hello and welcome to my blog. This week at CASEing the Catty we’re CASEing a Technique from the 2025-2026 Annual Catalogue. You may have hopped over from Rebecca’s blog, make sure you visit all the Design Team’s Blogs by clicking on the “next” button at the bottom of the post.

#ctc524

The technique I’ve CASEd is making a chunky background by inking a block, spritzing it with water and stamping it onto some Fluid 100 Watercolour Paper.

#page110

I’ve CASEd the card on the far left of the above graphic, changing the colours and adding in an extra technique.

#ctc524 #stampin_cat #watercolourblockbackground #thoughtfulwishes #stampinup

My card base is Pretty Peacock, a Wildflower Birthday SDSP banner, Gold Foil Sheet then the Fluid 100 Watercolour paper. I’ve used Clear Block “C” to create the background using Pretty Peacock and Lost lagoon ink. The leaf image is from the Thoughtful Wishes stamp set and is stamped in Memento Black ink.

#ctc524 #stampin_cat #watercolourblockbackground #thoughtfulwishes #stampinup

I’ve added some Gold Heat Embossed splotches using a stamp from the Elements of Text stamp set. The sentiment is also Gold Heat Embossed and is from the Unbounded Love stamp set. A few Pretty Peacock Foiled Gems finished off my card nicely.

My extra technique is the flower image stamped on my background splotches. I don’t think I invented this technique, it was more like I discovered it accidentally. The flower stamp is from the Round We Go stamp set. I put the stamp on a block then spritzed it with some Stampin’ Mist then stamped it over my background splotches. The Stampin’ Mist kind of removes some of the ink to show the stamped image. That’s what the Stampin’ Mist does, cleans the ink off our stamps, so why not “clean” the stamped ink off too.

Marvi was less than impressed with my technique, he barely opened his eyes for a photo today. He was too busy cat napping on the outdoor lounge.
