Social Stamping

Our theme this week is “Hearts”. I looked through my extensive collection of SU stamps and dies only to realise I did not have any hearts. Can you believe it, I’m heartless!!! So I’ve added hearts to my wish list and came up with Plan B. What else could I use? I realised the Follow Your Art Embellishment Kit has hearts in it, phew, I’ve got hearts.

I was thinking these cute little felt hearts might get a bit lost on a standard size card so I decided to make note cards instead.

And of course I needed a matching Mini Pizza Box and envelopes to go with my note cards.

I’ve made a little window for my hearts to sit in then each note card has “for you” stamped in the same colour as the card stock. I’ve also added some Follow Your Art Washi Tape to the cards and envelopes.

I’ve taught Marvi to sit and wait before I feed him, seems to work when I photograph him too. As long as he gets a treat when we’re finished he’s happy to co-operate, most days anyway lol.

This weeks theme is “Animals” so I just had to make a card with a cat on it using the Nine Lives Stamp set and matching Cat Punch.

My card base is Night of Navy with a layer of Seaside Spray then I’ve embossed a piece of Crumb Cake with the new Old World Paper Embossing Folder. I added a little ink to the inside of the embossing folder to create a crumpled brown paper sort of look, just like the brown paper we used to get in our SU delivery boxes. I found a great YouTube video from Erica Cerwin showing how to make the cardboard box.

I added some Follow Your Art Washi Tape to the box so it looked like a SU delivery. The cat, Marvi, has been stamped on Crumb Cake card stock in Memento Black Ink and coloured with Smoky Slate and Pumpkin Pie Blends. Marvi has so many colours in his fur it was hard to get the right look.

On the inside of the card I have some Seaside Spray with a layer of Whisper White. I added a little strip of embossed Crumb Cake along the bottom and stamped the sentiment and some little hearts.

Marvi loves to sit in boxes but today he wasn’t keen on posing for photos. The photo above is an old photo of him in a SU box. The photo below is why he wasn’t keen on posing today, snug as a bug in a rug. This is his favourite SU box which he’s had for many years.

I’m lucky to have all of my family live within a 20 km radius of me. My parents are in the Covid19 “high risk” age category so I haven’t seen them for a number of weeks. I’m currently working from home and only leaving the house to buy groceries but you can never be too careful.

When I bought and downloaded the Stampin’ Up! Share Sunshine PDF I immediately thought this sentiment would be perfect for my “family” inspired card.

My card base is Basic Gray with a layer of Whisper White. I’ve then used the Jubilee Beauty Dies to create these gorgeous detailed pieces and layered them over my Whisper White. I’ve used the Stitched So Sweetly Dies to cut the sentiment and the layer behind the sentiment.

The flowers are coloured with Smoky Slate, Seaside Spray and Pretty Peacock Stampin’ Blends. I’ve added some Basic Pearls, coloured with my Pretty Peacock Blend and some Seaside Spray 1/4″ Metallic Ribbon.

Marvi is a bit grumpy today because I disturbed him for a quick photo but I think he likes my card.
