Hello and welcome to my blog. Thanks for joining me tonight for this weeks CASEing the Catty Blog Hop CTC#262 week 1. We are CASEing the Koala sketch on page 34. You may have hopped over from Siobhan’s blog, make sure you visit all the Design Team’s Blogs by clicking on the “next” button at the bottom of each post.
I’ve used the three panels as inspiration for my card this week but my end design is very different.
Here’s the sketch we are using then here’s my version.
I’ve changed from landscape to portrait orientation and created a tri fold card.
My card base is Basic Black and I’ve scored it at 5.25cm each side to make a gatefold.
I’ve attached 2 Whisper White panels of card stock and Golden Honey Specialty DSP (free with any $90 order) to the right side of my card and 1 panel of Basic Black and DSP to the left side.
To hold the card closed I’ve adhered a Gold Foil panel to the centre. The 2 Whisper White panels slide underneath the Gold Foil panel to keep it closed.
It’s a very simple and quick card but the gorgeous Golden Honey Specialty DSP really makes it shine. The bee’s are die cut directly from the DSP.
Here’s a picture of the card with both sides open. I’ve added a sentiment and embellishment to the inside of the card.
Don’t be fooled by this innocent face, as soon as I looked away Marvi tried to remove the big bee from my card.
It’s time to hop over and see Tina’s wonderful creation. Just click on the next button below.
Thanks for stopping by.
Marvi, bees are bad for you!! I love your tri fold card! It’s perfect with this sketch. I also love the black/white/gold theme as well.
Peta, this is such a clever card, I just love it! Marvi should look way more impressed than he does. The black and gold is stunning but that tri-fold is a brilliant use of the inspiration sketch. I must try one of these, such a fun fun fold!!
Fabulous Peta. Love the gatefold idea and this dsp is just the thing to set it all off! Hope you made another bee for Marvi – little cutie that he is 🙂
Oh I love the tri fold card! The black, white and gold bees look great.
Great card design, and I love this paper. Makes for such an elegant card
I love both cards Peta
Brilliant fold! Love the DSP too – it’s all perfect!! Love love love.
