Hello and welcome to my blog. I hope everyone is practicing their social distancing and staying Coronavirus free. My household is doing well and doing our bit by grocery shopping for a friend who has self isolated after returning from overseas last week. I’ve also checked on my neighbours to make sure they’re OK.
On Wednesday night my downline, Cheryl, held a Skype card class. She put some card kits in the letter box and we did the class via Skype. It was a great night and it kept us crafting which in my case keeps me sane.
This week at CASEing the Catty we are CASEing the below sketch and making an Easter themed card. You may have hopped over from Michelle’s blog, make sure you visit all the Design Team’s Blogs by clicking on the “next” button at the bottom of each post.
It’s a great sketch but I really struggled with the simplicity of it. My card is kind of similar, I’ve got an oval and a rectangular panel and it’s an Easter card so I hope you like the end result.
My card base is Pool Party with a layer of Parisian Blossoms SDSP. I’ve used the Jubilee Beauty Dies in Whisper White to create the two panels. I’ve popped them up on Dimensionals to give some depth to the intricate detail of the die cut.
The flowers along the top are from the Birthday Jubilee stamp set and have been stamped in Black Memento Ink then coloured with Stampin’ Blends. I’ve also added two Silver Foil leaf die cuts and a Basic Rhinestone to the centre of the main flower. The sentiment is from Fable Friends and is stamped directly onto the SDSP in Bermuda Bay.
Marvi was happy to pose for photos today which must mean he likes my card.
It’s time to hop over and see Sandra’s wonderful creation. Just click on the next button below.
Thanks for stopping by.
Wow such a pretty card!! I love your “oval”, such a creative idea. Marvi looks quite impressed with it.
Love the pretty pastel colours of your card, Peta. Marvi is looking very handsome!
Wow, this is so beautiful. And a lovely way to interpret the sketch. Love the colours and the frame around the greeting. It’s all gorgeous.
It’s a beautiful cheerful spring-y card. But I think your real talent is cat wrangling. How do you get him to sit still for a pic every week? If I look at either of my cats through my phone, he instantly walks away. Marvi seems amazingly cooperative.
Thanks Leslie. Marvi responds to “sit” and “wait”, I’ve taught him to sit and wait before I feed him and he sits and waits (most of the time) when I photograph him. I’ve also taught him to walk on a lead, he’s very smart when he wants to be.
Your card is so pretty! I love the way that the opening in the diecut frames the blossoms in the DSP so perfectly. Love it!
I love it Peta and love the idea of on line class.
What a great way to bring in the oval shape by creating it from putting the two die cut pieces together. Pretty card.
