Hello and welcome to my blog. Happy Easter everyone, I hope the Easter Bunny found you even if you’re in isolation and couldn’t spend time with your family and friends.
This week at CASEing the Catty we are using the flowers from the brand new suite, Ornate Garden, as our inspiration. You can check out this amazing suite here.
You may have hopped over from Rebecca’s blog, make sure you visit all the Design Team’s Blogs by clicking on the “next” button at the bottom of each post.
I’ve taken my inspiration from the Ornate Garden Specialty DSP
A very dear friend is having a birthday on Easter Monday. She loves yellow flowers and bees, so this card was designed especially for her.
My card base is Crushed Curry with a layer of Basic Black. I’ve stamped the flowers from Daisy Lane on a piece of Whisper White card stock. I’ve then coloured some of the flowers with Daffodil Delight and Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends. The little green flowers in the background are from Daisy Delight.
I’ve used the Ornate Frames Dies (on the 2019 Holiday Carryover List) to die cut the Basic Black and Old Olive pieces behind the sentiment. The “Happy Birthday” is from Timeless Tulips. I’ve also added a cute little bee, die cut directly from the Golden Honey SDSP and some retired Old Olive 1/8″ Sheer Ribbon.
I love this sentiment from the Here’s a Card stamp set.
This card had to be posted ASAP if it was going to make it to the recipient on time for her birthday. A quick pic with Marvi then it was off to the post office.
It’s time to hop over and see Tina’s wonderful creation. Just click on the next button below.
Thanks for stopping by.
The colours are so dynamic and elegant. What a great CASE of the dsp. Amazing card.
Lovely card, Peta. The layered up labels are wonderful.
Can’t go wrong with bees and flowers – even Marvi seems pretty pleased with your effort Peta! Nice masking and colouring – the greeting inside is great!
Well for someone who likes yellow flowers and bees, this is perfect! How sweet of you to make something so tailored for her (yay for handmade!). I love your DIY background stamping – especially the little green flowers which are just the perfect finishing touch. Beautiful card. 🙂 Siobhan.
That’s really clever layering of the labels Peta, love the sharp angles with the ornate florals. Lovely that you can create something so personally tailored.
Fabulous card, I love the background you created
I love the background stamping and colouring. Great card.
I thought your background was dsp!!! I love all your layers on the sentiment piece.
Aww, such a bright, cheerful card for a birthday! I’m sure your friend loved it!
