Hello and welcome to my blog. This week at CASEing the Catty we are CASEing anything from the Sale-a-bration Catalogue. You may have hopped over from Rebecca’s blog, make sure you visit all the Design Team’s Blogs by clicking on the “next” button at the bottom of each post.
I’ve used the Hydrangea Hill Suite to case the “hello there” card in the top left hand corner of page 15.
I started out stamping the hydrangea image in Memento Black ink then thought I’d use the baby wipe technique with the solid stamp to colour the petals of the flower. I used Misty Moonlight, Seaside Spray, Gorgeous Grape and Highland Heather re-inkers. I didn’t want the ink on the baby wipe to go to waste so I stamped a few strips of Whisper White offcuts as well. The baby wipe I was using had a spotted pattern on it and when I stamped my offcuts the spotted image also stamped giving it a very interesting look.
I thought the stamped image looked a bit plain so I die cut several small flowers from my stamped offcuts and layered the flowers over the top of my hydrangea.
My hydrangea looked so much better. I stamped some Granny Apple Green over the leaves and flower stem. I’ve used a Layering Scalloped Square die to die cut the centre out of some Hydrangea Hill DSP. I love how the small flowers match the DSP perfectly.
I added some Wink of Stella to my die cut flowers and added a little sentiment. I’ve used some of my stamped “DSP” along the bottom of my sentiment tag and added some Baker’s Twine.
Marvi looked impressed with my card this week. He didn’t even try and pull off the Baker’s Twine.
It’s time to hop over and see Monique’s wonderful creation. Just click on the next button below.
Your card really is impressive!! Love the gorgeous spottiness from the baby wipe!! And all the extra little petals give the flower so much extra depth. Sublime. And so so so pretty. .
Gorgeous card Peta. Can see why Marvi is impressed! Love your no waste idea and pretty added depth using what you created for petals and the little strip on the greeting. And you still have more to use another day 🙂
Oooh, your hydrangea is fabulous! I adore the extra flowers over the top, and the DSP border is wonderful.
So pretty with all those colour variations. and the Wink Of Stella always adds a nice touch.
The baby wipe technique is perfect for the hydrangea. It looks amazing. Even more amazing how you’ve made it into an3D flower. Lovely card.
Marvi looks very pleased with your card as he should! I love the baby wipe technique on the hydrangea. Such a lovely card.
