Hello and welcome to my blog. Thanks for joining me for another week of #socialstamping, hosted by the wonderful Kelly Kent. It was Kelly’s birthday on Friday. Happy Birthday Kelly, I hope you had a great day.
You can work your way through the host by clicking on the next button at the bottom of the post or you can click here to go back to Kelly’s post where there’s a list of participants so you can continue your way around.
This weeks theme is “Sunshine”. When I think of the word sunshine I think of happiness, warmth, light and fun. Sunshine makes us mindful and helps us to forget about our problems. Sunshine makes us feel good, regular exposure to sunshine helps to increase your serotonin levels. When thinking about sunshine I think in colours of sunny yellows and oranges. I may be a little biased toward sunshine as I live on the Sunshine Coast in sunny Queensland, beautiful one day and perfect the next.
I’ve made two cards for our Sunshine theme using the Botanical Tags Thinlits. Both cards have a Basic Black card base with a layer of Mango Melody.
I’ve used the Timeless Tulips stamp set for my flower stems then die cut 3 flowers in Mango Melody, Pineapple Punch and Daffodil Delight. After die cutting one of my flowers I noticed on my cutting plate that the left over pieces looked like a sun so I picked them up with some Press’N Seal and used them on my second card. (please no judgement on the state of my cutting plate, it’s got plenty of life left in it lol)
I couldn’t waste this perfect looking “sun” so I turned it into a second card. Just add some Gold Glimmer circles to the centre and you have some Sun Flowers.
I’ve coloured some Whisper White 1/4″ Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon with my Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blend. The word “Sunshine” is from the Make A Difference stamp set and is White Heat Embossed on Basic Black card stock.
I love how these both turned out. Which one is your favourite?
Mr Marvi was more interested in my Air Plants than my cards. He’s actually pulled one of them out of the basket, lucky they’re fairly hardy.
Next up is the wonderful Leonie Stuart. Just click on the next button to hop over to her beautiful creation.
Thanks for stopping by.
Perfect cards. So bright and cheery!
So full of Sunshine & very clever on your second card….
Gorgeous cards PETA! I love how your second card came about- seeing a sun from the die cut pieces and running with it – so clever! A beautiful model to accompany your cards too I’m not sure my Lab would oblige so well. xx
Great way to make the most of your die cuts-you’ve captured the sunshine theme perfectly!
I think my favourite it the glimmer paper and leftover card!! So fun and sunshiney and glorious!
Your cards are beautiful Peta, so bright, warm and cheery x
Love the happy accident of the leftover pieces! Gorgeous happy cards Peta! Kelly x
