CTC296 – Step Up A Mini Catalogue Project

Hello and welcome to my blog. This week at CASEing the Catty we are taking a project from the Mini Catalogue and stepping it up. You may have hopped over from Rachel’s blog, make sure you visit all the Design Team’s Blogs by clicking on the “next” button at the bottom of each post.

I’ve made three versions of the “Joy” card on page 18. The first version for the beginner crafter, the second version for the casual crafter and the third version for the avid crafter.

I’ve kept my cards very similar to the sample card, I’ve changed the card stock to Garden Green and the DSP to Poinsettia Place.

I’ve stamped the leaf image from the Peace and Joy stamp set, directly on my card base in Garden Green ink. The “Joy” is stamped in Poppy Parade and die cut with the matching Joy Dies. I’ve added some Silver Metallic Mesh Ribbon and some sequins.

For the second card I’ve added another layer of Garden Green card stock and embossed it with the Subtle Embossing folder. I’ve also added a Silver Foil layer to my “Joy” sentiment.

The third card has a Whisper White layer of card stock added and a pretty Silver Foil border behind the DSP. The “Joy” sentiment has been Silver heat embossed and layered over a Poppy Parade die cut. I’ve also added an extra “To The World” sentiment.

It’s quite easy to step up a card by adding layers, texture and a little bit of bling and shine. Which card is your favourite?

Marvi doesn’t appear to have a favourite although he was quite fascinated by the Metallic Mesh Ribbon. After I took this picture he pawed at one of the cards then hooked his claws into the mesh ribbon.
It’s time to hop over and see Siobhan’s wonderful creation. Just click on the next button below.
