Hello and welcome to my blog. It’s Sunday night already which means it’s time for another CASEing the Catty blog hop. This week has flown by even though it was a short week, with Tuesday being a public holiday for Australia Day. Can you believe it’s the first day of February tomorrow!!!

This week I’ve CASEd the card in the bottom right hand corner of page 11 of the Sale-a-bration Catalogue.

I’ve used different colours from the sample card but keep fairly close to the layout.

My card base is Thick Whisper White followed by layers of Gorgeous Grape and In Good Taste DSP. I’ve fussy cut some flowers from the True Love DSP and arranged them around my sentiment.

The sentiment is from the Friends Are Like Seashells stamp set and is stamped in Highland Heather. I’ve punched either end of some Hydrangea Hill Mercury Glass Acetate with the Lovely Labels Pick A Punch. I’ve also added a Gorgeous Grape 3/8″ Sheer Ribbon bow and some Basic Rhinestones.

I’d had two card classes the day before this photo was taken and Marvi was exhausted. He usually waits at the front door for a meet, greet and pat then creates havoc during class by jumping up onto the table and “helping” everyone with their cards.

When we have a new catalogue out we often forget about the older stamp sets we have sitting on our shelf. I’ve used the Band Together stamp set for my CASE this week as it hasn’t seen much love lately. I’ve CASEd the “Thank You” card on page 70 of the Annual Catty.

I’ve changed the sample card by changing the colours and stamp set, adding more layers of card stock and by bringing the floral die cut to the top layer of card rather than have it behind the layers. Basically my card looks nothing like the sample card but this is the sample I used as my inspiration.

I’ve used Gray Granite and Whisper White card stock. I’ve white heat embossed the smaller flower from the stamped image then used my Aqua Painter to water colour the image using Melon Mambo and Pear Pizzazz. I’ve used the Old World Paper Embossing Folder then adhered my fussy cut flower with dimensionals.

The sentiment is from the Many Mates stamp set and is die cut with the Layering Circles Dies. I’ve added some Gray Granite 1/4″ Shimmer Ribbon behind the sentiment. The die cut below the flower is from the Ornate Layers Dies.

Marvi seemed more interested in whatever was behind me. He’s probably looking for snacks in the kitchen lol.

I’ve used the Hydrangea Hill Suite to case the “hello there” card in the top left hand corner of page 15.

I started out stamping the hydrangea image in Memento Black ink then thought I’d use the baby wipe technique with the solid stamp to colour the petals of the flower. I used Misty Moonlight, Seaside Spray, Gorgeous Grape and Highland Heather re-inkers. I didn’t want the ink on the baby wipe to go to waste so I stamped a few strips of Whisper White offcuts as well. The baby wipe I was using had a spotted pattern on it and when I stamped my offcuts the spotted image also stamped giving it a very interesting look.

I thought the stamped image looked a bit plain so I die cut several small flowers from my stamped offcuts and layered the flowers over the top of my hydrangea.

My hydrangea looked so much better. I stamped some Granny Apple Green over the leaves and flower stem. I’ve used a Layering Scalloped Square die to die cut the centre out of some Hydrangea Hill DSP. I love how the small flowers match the DSP perfectly.

I added some Wink of Stella to my die cut flowers and added a little sentiment. I’ve used some of my stamped “DSP” along the bottom of my sentiment tag and added some Baker’s Twine.

Marvi looked impressed with my card this week. He didn’t even try and pull off the Baker’s Twine.
