CTC Sunday Challenge

Hello and welcome to my blog.  Happy EOFY everyone, it’s a busy time of year for me working in an Accountants Office but I’m not too busy to join in with the very talented crew from CASEing the Catty.  This week at CASEing the Catty we are CASEing from page 159 of the Annual Catalogue.  If you check your catalogue you’ll see there is only one card on this page!!!   Wait until you see the many ways we’ve all interpreted this card.

You may have arrived here from Sandra’s gorgeous creation, thanks for continuing on with me.  Make sure you visit all the Design Team’s Blogs by clicking on the “next” button at the bottom of each post.

I’ve kept my card fairly similar to the sample this week, using the same layout and colours.

My card base is Night of Navy and my stripey background is created with Night of Navy, Seaside Spray and Purple Posy ink.  I’ve used the Bouncing Brayer technique for this panel, it’s an old technique but also really easy.  Patrice Halliday-Larsen has a great Youtube video showing this technique.  I’ve die cut a stitched line down the right hand side of this piece using the die from Stitched Nested Labels.

I’ve used the sentiment and dandelion image from Dandelion Wishes.  I’ve added a little Wink of Stella to my dandelion but you really can’t see it in the photo.

Marvi is back to posing for photos although by the look on his face I’m not sure if he’s happy about it or not.

Next up tonight is Rachel’s beautiful project.  Just click on the “Next” button to hop right over.

CTC234 – Case The Colour Scheme of Pressed Petals DSP

#stampin_cat #ctc224 #heirloomframes #stampinup

CTC Sunday Challenge

Hello and welcome to another CASEing the Catty Blog Hop.  This week we are CASEing the colours from the Pressed Petals DSP and using a layout from pages 72-73 as inspiration.   The colours include Crumb Cake, Daffodil Delight, Merry Merlot, Mossy Meadow, Night of Navy, Pear Pizzazz, Rocco Rose, Soft Suede and Very Vanilla.

Pressed Petals DSP

You may have arrived here from Julia’s gorgeous creation, thanks for continuing on with me.  Make sure you visit all the Design Team’s Blogs by clicking on the “next” button at the bottom of each post.

I’ve chosen to CASE this card from the bottom of page 72.

I’ve used Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Merry Merlot, Mossy Meadow and Very Vanilla.

The sample uses the Petal Labels Dies but they are still on my Wish List so I’ve improvised by using the Heirloom Frames 3D Embossing Folders to create my main oval feature.  I’ve then die cut the centre out of the oval with the Layering Ovals Dies.  These embossing folders come with matching dies that cut the whole frame out but I only wanted to cut out the middle of my oval.

Heirloom Frames

The Merry Merlot flowers are from the Bouquet Bunch Dies and the Mossy Meadow leaves are from the Lovely Flowers Dies.

The sentiment is from Good Morning Magnolia and is Gold Heat Embossed.  I’ve also added a Braided Linen Trim bow.

A few people have been asking “where’s Marvi?”.  Mr Marvi has not been very co-operative with photos lately, this is the best one I could get this week.  “Can someone please rub my tummy” says Marvi.

Next up tonight is Rebecca’s beautiful project.  Just click on the “Next” button to hop right over.

CTC233 – Case a Layout From Page 36

#stampin_cat #ctc233 #comesailaway #stampinup

CTC Sunday Challenge

Hello and welcome to another CASEing the Catty Blog Hop.  This week we are CASEing from  page 36 of the new Annual Catalogue.  You may have arrived here from Rebecca’s gorgeous creation, thanks for continuing on with me.  Make sure you visit all the Design Team’s Blogs by clicking on the “next” button at the bottom of each post.

The Magnolia Lane Suite is simply beautiful and so are the samples in the Catalogue.  I’ve chosen to use the Come Sail Away Suite on my CASE this week instead of Magnolia Lane, which shows the versatility of the products.  Here’s a closer look at the card I’ve CASEd.

I’m so in love with the Come Sail Away Suite, you can check out my other creations by clicking here.

My card base is Night of Navy and I’ve embossed it with the Subtle Embossing Folder as the texture resembles the look on the striped DSP.  I’ve die cut 3 different pieces of Come Sail Away DSP with the border die from Magnolia Memory.  I’ve die cut the border the opposite to the sample card as I think it looks more like waves this way.

#stampin_cat #ctc233 #comesailaway #stampinup

The sentiment is White Heat Embossed on Soft Suede card stock and I’ve popped a Copper Foil die cut behind it.  I’ve also added some retired Metallic Sequins.

Next up tonight is Tina’s beautiful project.  Just click on the “Next” button to hop right over.
