In the very little spare time I have, I have started growing succulents. There are so many varieties and they’re so hardy (I have killed an air plant so I don’t have a very green thumb). When I saw the Online Exclusive stamp set called Detailed Succulent I knew I needed to buy it.

This stamp set is a two step stamp set (actually the large succulent is three step) and it’s also a Distinktive stamp set. I had lots of fun experimenting with different colour combinations.

My card base is Smoky Slate followed by a layer of Fresh Freesia then a layer of Basic White. The Basic White layer has been embossed with the Timber 3D Embossing Folder. I’ve die cut a circle from this layer then added a piece of Country Lace DSP behind the circle.

I’ve used a few ink colours on my succulents. Smoky Slate, Shy Shamrock, Lemon Lime Twist, Soft Sea Foam, Lost Lagoon and Fresh Freesia. The sentiment is White Heat embossed on Smoky Slate card stock. I’ve also added a few 2024-2026 In Colour Shimmer Gems.

Marvi has his dog friend, Mike, visiting for the long weekend. His humans have gone to Hervey Bay for a few days and they said Mike didn’t want to go with them. He’d rather hang out at my house with Marvi. When Mike visits Marvi usually spends his time up off the floor, just in case Mike gets too close.

I’ve actually CASEd the scrapbooking page above however I’ve made my project a card.

My card base is Pool Party followed by a layer of Basic White. I’ve used the Something Fancy Dies on some Wildflower Birthday SDSP and layered these die cuts just like the sample project. This SDSP is so beautiful with hints of gold on some of the sheets.

The sentiment is stamped in Pool Party ink and is from the Sweetly Scripted stamp set. I’ve finished off my card with a few Purple Adhesive-Backed Sequins from the SAB Brochure.

Marvi was hanging out with me in my craft room and posed for a nice photo. Please excuse the mess in the background, I’ve just spotted my hard hat under my desk. No, I don’t wear my hard hat while I’m crafting hahaha. I have a weekend side hustle where I help my partner out building retaining walls. I drive his excavator and lift up the concrete sleepers to build the walls. It’s exciting and scary all at the same time.

Hello and welcome to my blog. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and New Year. I was on a South Pacific Island cruise for New Year. Needless to say I ate too much, partied too hard and didn’t get enough sleep but it was so much fun.

This week at CASEing the Catty we are CASEing from the SAB Brochure. You may have hopped over from Andrea’s blog, make sure you visit all the Design Team’s Blogs by clicking on the “next” button at the bottom of the post.

I’ve CASEd the “Happy Birthday” card on page 11 of the SAB Brochure. It’s a simple card and a nice way to ease back into card making for the new year.

I have made a few changes to my card however the layout is exactly the same.

My card base is Melon Mambo, which isn’t a colour I use a lot of. The next layer is Basic White which has been embossed with the Forever Plaid 3D Embossing Folder. I’ve cut five strips of Toadstool Gardens DSP and arranged them on my card front.

The sentiment is die cut using the Wanted To Say Dies then I added a few Adhesive Backed Sequins from the Trio pack.

Marvi was very cuddly when we arrived home. He did have a wonderful pet sitter, Shane, looking after him for 8 days while we were on our cruise. Apparently Marvi woke him up around 4.30am every morning because that’s the time my partner usually gets up every morning. Marvi had a Birthday on the 9th January so we just made it back from our holiday. Can you believe he’s 12 years old now?
