Hello and welcome to my blog. This week we are CASEing an Embossing project from either Catalogue. It could be embossing with embossing powder or embossing with embossing folders, you choose. When I started out paper crafting I can remember the first time a friend showed me embossing with embossing powder. Wow!!! I was hooked, it was so magical watching the powder turn all shiny when you heated it. It’s still one of my favourite techniques and you may have noticed most of my cards have some embossing on them.

I’ve used the pink and white striped “Thank You” card on page 71 of the Annual Catalogue, as my inspiration.

It’s a simple card with a DSP background and heat embossing on vellum. I’ve made my version of this card a Christmas card.

I’ve started with a Thick Basic White card base with a layer of Boughs of Holly DSP. Unlike the sample card, I’ve cut my DSP a little smaller to show a nice white border. Next I’ve cut a piece of Vellum card stock and I’ve Gold Heat Embossed the large flower from the Merriest Moments stamp set, directly onto the vellum.

I’ve also Heat Embossed three smaller flowers on a separate piece of vellum then die cut them with the matching Merriest Frames Dies. I’ve layered the smaller flower on top of the bigger flowers then I’ve stamped three Real Red flower centres. The sentiment is White heat embossed on Old Olive card stock. I’ve also added a few For Everything Sequins for some extra bling.

Mr Marvi was chilling out on his mat which made for the perfect photo opportunity. I’m not sure what he thinks of my card this week but looking at his ears, maybe he didn’t like it.

Hello and welcome to my blog. This week at CASEing the Catty we are CASEing a Punch Project from either Catalogue. You may have hopped over from Julia’s blog, make sure you visit all the Design Team’s Blogs by clicking on the “next” button at the bottom of the post.

I’m using the Ladybird card on the very left hand side of page 30 as my inspiration.

I’ve gone with a more round leafy frame rather than the rectangle leafy frame in the sample card.

I have a base of Thick Basic White with layers of Mint Macaron, Basic White and Splendid Day SDSP. The circular leafy die cut is from the Natural Prints Dies. I’ve used the Medium Daisy Punch with the Splendid Day SDSP and layered my daisies. The little leaves behind the daisies are from the Flowers and Leaves Punch.

The Dragonfly is from the Dragonfly Garden stamp set and I’ve stamped it in StazOn ink on some window sheet then punched it out. I’ve added a little colour to the wings with my Stampin’ Blends. The sentiment is White Heat Embossed and is from the Go To Greetings stamp set.

Marvi was posing nicely this week although something behind me was capturing this attention.

Hello and welcome to my blog. This week at CASEing the Catty we have a sketch challenge. The sketch is of the card in the middle of page 30 of the Mini Catty.

I decided to use the Sun Prints DSP on my card. Even though it’s not technically a Christmas paper I think it really works well.

My card base is Night of Navy followed by a layer of Basic White then my DSP. I’ve used the Labels Aglow Dies directly on my DSP to create the circular pattern. I love how the white really pops through the die cut.

The sentiment is from the Brightest Glow stamp set and is stamped in Night of Navy. I have a Silver Foil circle behind the sentiment. I’ve also added some retired Whisper White Flax Ribbon, some white stars and a few For Everything Fancy Sequins.

Marvi didn’t look too impressed this week. I had a really busy weekend and I took this photo very early in the morning. He would usually still be fast asleep.
