Hello and welcome to my blog. I hope you are well and managed to do something special for Anzac Day yesterday, even with these social distancing and self isolation rules.
This week at CASEing the Catty our challenge will only be going for one week instead of the usual two weeks. So don’t delay and get crafting, we’d love to see what you make. Our theme this week is to CASE the colours of the Ornate Garden Suite. The colours are Bumblebee (could this be a new In Colour?), Early Espresso, Mint Macaroon, Old Olive, Terracotta Tile and Whisper White.
You may have hopped over from Julia’s blog, make sure you visit all the Design Team’s Blogs by clicking on the “next” button at the bottom of each post.
As the Ornate Garden Suite is full of flowers I decided on another flower stamp set to use on my card, Good Morning Magnolia.
My card base is Early Espresso with a layer of Terracotta Tile. Instead of using Whisper White I’ve used Very Vanilla as I think it works better with these colours. My layer of Very Vanilla has been embossed with the Coastal Weave Embossing Folder then I sponged a little Early Espresso around the edges. I’ve also used my retired Gold Wink of Stella to add some gold splatter.
I’ve Gold heat embossed the large Magnolia flower then used my Aqua Painter to colour the leaves with Mint Macaron and Old Olive. I gold embossed a second Magnolia flower and water coloured the leaves in Early Espresso and Terracotta Tile then fussy cut them and added them behind my main flower, I also added a few Gold Glimmer Paper die cut leaves, just for good measure. There’s a little Daffodil Delight in the centre of my Magnolia then I covered the white of my flower with Wink of Stella. It was hard to capture the shimmer in my photo.
Mr Marvi had just woken up, so he was a little grumpy. He was fast asleep in his basket and the next minute he was there, ready for a photo. He’s had this basket since he was a kitten and he is way too big for it now but somehow still manages to squish himself in.
It’s time to hop over and see Michelle’s wonderful creation. Just click on the next button below.
