CTC Sunday Challenge

Hello and welcome to my blog. This week at CASEing the Catty we are CASEing a Blending Brush Technique from either Catalogue. You may have hopped over from Michelle’s blog, make sure you visit all the Design Team’s Blogs by clicking on the “next” button at the bottom of the post.

I’m using the cute little Cardigan cards on page 66 of the Mini catty for my inspiration. These cards use Stampin’ Up! Masking Paper to create a border on the ombre backgrounds.

My version of these cards are 10.5cm square Christmas cards using the above blending brush technique.

All cards start with a Crumb Cake card base followed by a layer of Cherry Cobbler. I’ve made my ombre background on some Shimmery White card stock. How good does the border look? I’ll definitely be using this technique again. Here’s a closer look at each card.

I’ve used the Spruced Up Outlines Dies to die cut the Christmas tree and ornaments then I’ve Gold Heat Embossed some decorations on them using the Spruced Up stamp set. I’ve also added some Glimmer Gold accents and some Red Basic Rhinestones.

Even though it’s going to be 30 degrees in Queensland today, Marvi was soaking up the early morning sun. I’m not sure he appreciated me interrupting his cat nap.

CTC392 – Case Annual Catalogue Sketch, Page 58

CTC Sunday Challenge

Hello and welcome to my blog. I’m back this week for another CASEing the Catty blog hop. I missed last week as my whole family went away for a three day weekend to celebrate my fathers 92nd birthday. We all had such a great weekend.

We have a sketch challenge this week. We’re CASEing the sketch on page 58 of the Annual Catalogue. You may have hopped over from Michelle’s blog, make sure you visit all the Design Team’s Blogs by clicking on the “next” button at the bottom of the post.

#CTC392

I’ve made my version of this card a Christmas Card. I don’t make many Christmas cards in the traditional red and green colours but I just love how it’s turned out.

#ctc392 #stampin_cat #boughsofhollydsp #bricksandmortar #brightestglow #stampinup

My card base is Thick Basic White followed by a layer of regular Basic White. Then I’ve cut two more panels of Basic White and embossed them with the Bricks & Mortar 3D embossing folder. I’ve added some colour to the background by flicking my Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Write marker and my Wink of Stella all over it.

The Poinsettia flowers have been fussy cut from the Boughs of Holly DSP. I do enjoy fussy cutting but this was a little difficult, let’s just say there were casualties when cutting around the little berries. I’ve added some Silver Simply Elegant trim behind the flowers. The sentiment if from the Brightest Glow stamp set and has been die cut using the Labels Aglow Dies.

Mr Marvi has been like a shadow since I left him home alone last weekend. My lovely friend Cheryl popped in to feed him and give him cuddles but he missed his Mum.

CTC Sunday Challenge

Hello and welcome to my blog. Happy Card Making Day, for yesterday. I hope you all managed to spend some time crafting.

This week at CASEing the Catty we are CASEing from the bundles section of the Annual Catalogue, pages 161-167. You may have hopped over from Tina’s blog, make sure you visit all the Design Team’s Blogs by clicking on the “next” button at the bottom of the post.

I’m CASEing the card made with the “He’s All That” Bundle on page 164 of the Annual Catalogue.

#page164

I’ve turned my CASE into a Christmas card because you can’t have too many Christmas cards…………right?

#ctc389 #stampin_cat #sprucedup #allthatdies #stampinup

My card base is Orchid Oasis followed by layers of Basic White and Bermuda Bay. On the Bermuda Bay layer I’ve White Heat Embossed some snowflakes from the Spruced Up stamp set. Next I added some Bermuda Bay and Orchid Oasis stars.

#ctc389 #stampin_cat #sprucedup #allthatdies #stampinup

The sentiment is from the Brightest Glow stamp set and I’ve used the All That Dies to die cut it. I’ve added two layers of ribbon behind the sentiment, White Glittered Organdy Ribbon and Orchid Oasis Metallic Woven Ribbon.

Look at this cheeky Marvi poking his tongue out at my card!!! Maybe he doesn’t like the colours, as using these colours for Christmas was really outside my comfort zone.

It’s time to hop over and see Judy’s wonderful creation. Just click on the next button below.
