CTC Sunday Challenge

Hello and welcome to my blog.  We’ve had such hot and windy weather here on the Sunshine Coast this week.  There’s bushfires at Cooroibah and Tewantin at the moment and several bushfires in NSW, I hope everyone is OK and stays safe.

This week at CASEing the Catty we are CASEing a layout from page 22 of the Holiday Catalogue. You may have hopped over from Michelle’s blog.  Make sure you visit all the Design Team’s Blogs by clicking on the “next” button at the bottom of each post.

I’ve CASEd the penguin card in the bottom right hand corner of the above picture.  Originally I made this card for #CTC245 but I didn’t make it into the blog hop because I was holidaying in Cairns.  So I thought I’d use it this week because I really liked how it turned out and I’ve used a really cool technique to create the stars on the background.

#stampin_cat #ctc254 #pinetreepunch #wrappedinplaid #stampinup

My card base is Night of Navy with a layer of Whisper White.  On a separate piece of Whisper White I’ve used my Sponge Brayer and created a background with Rich Razzleberry, Night of Navy and Shaded Spruce.  I’ve die cut a circle from Sparkle Glimmer Paper then added a Gold Foil and Wrapped In Plaid Pine Tree.

#stampin_cat #ctc254 #pinetreepunch #wrappedinplaid #stampinup

For the background stars I’ve simply sprayed my stamp, from So Many Stars, with Stampin’ Mist Stamp Cleaner then stamped it onto my brayered card stock.  I accidentally “inked” up my stamp on my Stampin’ Scrub instead of my ink pad and discovered that the Stampin’ Mist Cleaner actually lifts the ink off the brayered card stock.  So I tried it again, this time actually spraying the stamp and I got this very cool result.  When you first stamp your stamp it doesn’t look like anything is happening but as it dries the colour lifts off.  I’ve also added a few Snowflake Sequins and retired Metallic Sequins and the greeting is Gold Heat Embossed on Vellum.

Next up tonight is Tina’s beautiful project.  Just click on the “Next” button to hop right over.

CTC Sunday Challenge

Hello and welcome to my blog.  I’ve just got back from a quick trip to the Gold Coast, I went to see Suzi Quatro perform at the Star Casino.  She still knows how to rock at the unbelievable age of 69, it was a great show.

This week at CASEing the Catty we are CASEing from the “Come to Gather” Suite, pages 46 -51.  You may have hopped over from Shannon’s blog.  Make sure you visit all the Design Team’s Blogs by clicking on the “next” button at the bottom of each post.

CTC253

I’ve chosen to CASE the background of the card on page 51 using the new Snowfall Accents Puff Paint.

Page 51

My card base is Sahara Sand layered with an embossed piece of Soft Suede.  I’ve used the Bricks & Mortar 3D embossing folder.  Then I’ve used the Puff Paint to give my “Brick Wall” a very distressed and weathered look. Have you tried the Puff Paint yet?  It’s so much fun to work with, I love the effect it has given to my brick wall.

I’ve die cut a few different sizes of So Many Stars and layered them all together to create the main star embellishment.

The Brightly Gleaming Foil Elements look so beautiful and shiny, I’ve layered a couple of smaller stars over the top then offset them.

Marvi was happy to pose for a photo this week.  Luckily I took the photos before I left him for a couple of days.  His Grandma and Grandpa took great care of him while I was away.

Next up tonight is Michelle’s beautiful project.  Just click on the “Next” button to hop right over.

CTC Sunday Challenge

Hello and welcome to my blog, you may be starting with me this week or you may have hopped over from Tina’s blog.  Make sure you visit all the Design Team’s Blogs by clicking on the “next” button at the bottom of each post.

We are CASEing a layout from page 52 of the Holiday Catalogue.  Page 52 features the Halloween themed, Monster Bash suite.

Page 52

Halloween is a non event in my household so this week I’ve CASEd the “Open if you Dare” box and turned it into a Christmas gift box.

#stampin_cat #ctc252 #brightlygleaming #minishippingboxes #ornateframes #stampinup

I’ve used a Mini Shipping Box and created a belly band using Brightly Gleaming Specialty DSP.  I can’t get enough of this DSP at the moment, it’s so beautiful.

#stampin_cat #ctc252 #brightlygleaming #minishippingboxes #ornateframes #stampinup

I’ve used some Pretty Peacock 1/2″ Scalloped Ribbon and some Very Vanilla/Copper 1/2″ Classic Weave Ribbon around my belly band.  I cut the Pretty Peacock ribbon in half,  down the middle to create two pieces of ribbon, then adhered them to the “Merry Christmas” ribbon.

I’ve used the Ornate Frames Dies on Noble Peacock Foil Sheets to layer behind the sentiment.  “Oh What Yum” is from the Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set and it’s embossed with Copper Embossing Powder.

Marvi wasn’t keen on a photo with my project this week but he’s always keen to help out at my classes.  He likes to keep a close eye on everyone.  Here he is with Coral, Jenny, Beryl and Di.  He’s good at stealing ribbon and twine lol

Next up tonight is Julia’s beautiful project.  Just click on the “Next” button to hop right over.
