CTC198 – Frosted Floral – Pages 36-41

Stampi' Cat CTC198 Hardwood Animal Expedition Stampin' Up!

I’ve made a big decision this week.  I missed out on On Stage in Brisbane and I was 18th on the waiting list so I’ve decided to go to On Stage in Auckland, even though I plan to go there next year as well.   I’ve registered for Auckland, while they still had spots available and before the cut off date of the 25th of September.  Now all I need to do is book flights and accommodation, too easy.  I’m looking forward to meeting some of my fellow NZ CTC Crew members.

Welcome to another CASEing the Catty Blog Hop.  This week our inspiration comes from the Frosted Floral section, pages 36-41 of the 2018 Holiday Catalogue.   You may have arrived here from Julia’s gorgeous creation, thanks for continuing on with me.  Make sure you visit all the Design Team’s Blogs by clicking on the “next” button at the bottom of each post.

I couldn’t decide on which lovely card to CASE from this section.  A technique, rather than a card, on page 40 caught my eye.

I’ve CASEd the blended background using an Aqua Painter then I’ve put a bit of an Aussie spin on it using a Kangaroo die cut from Animal Expedition DSP.

My card base is Basic Black followed by a layer a Grey Granite which has been stamped with the Hardwood background stamp using Sahara Sand Ink.  I’ve used Shimmery White card stock and my Aqua Painter to colour the oval with Blueberry Bushel and Tranquil Tide.  Then I’ve used some Wink of Stella over the oval for some added shine.

The sentiment is from the Merry Christmas To All Stamp Set and is stamped in Real Red Ink.  I’ve also used the co-ordinating dies, Merry Christmas Thinlits.  There’s some Burlap Ribbon and some Real Red 1/8″ Solid Ribbon behind the oval.  The Santa Hat is from the Santa’s Workshop Memories & More Card Pack.

My assistant, Marvi, was on hand for the photos.  I guess that’s what happens when you photograph your cards on the floor lol.

That’s a better pose Marvi.

Next up tonight is Rebecca’s beautiful project.  Just click on the “Next” button to hop right over.

This is one of my favourite Suites in the Holiday Catalogue.  In saying that I’m only using a greeting from the Peaceful Noel stamp set on my card today.

I’m using the “Tree” card, from the Timeless Tidings Project Kit, on page 33, for inspiration.  Here’s a closer look.

I’ve used Lovely As A Tree on some Shimmer White card stock.

My card base is Tranquil Tide with a layer of Mint Macaroon.  The trees are stamped in Tranquil Tide and Mint Macaron then I’ve embossed the tree image from Timeless Tidings with Gold Embossing Powder.  I’ve used my Aqua Painter with Balmy Blue ink for the sky background.

The gold border under the trees is a retired Eastern Gold Vinyl Sticker.  The sentiment is die cut with a Stitched Label Framelit.

Next on tonight’s hop is the lovely Julia.  Her project is beautiful.  Just click on the Next button to hop right over.

Stampin' Cat CTC196 Festive Farmhouse Elements Merry Christmas To All Stampin' Up!

Welcome to another CASEing the Catty Blog Hop.  This week our inspiration comes from the Santa’s Workshop section, pages 18-27 of the 2018 Holiday Catalogue.   You may have arrived here from Fi’s gorgeous creation, thanks for continuing on with me.  Make sure you visit all the Design Team’s Blogs by clicking on the “next” button at the bottom of each post.

I decided to CASE the “Merry Warm Wishes” card on page 24.

This card uses the fabulous new Tags & Tidings stamp set.  Unfortunately it’s still on my wish list so I used the Marbled Background stamp instead.

I painted the Marbled stamp with Frost White Shimmer Paint using an old paint brush.  I’ve used Crumb Cake card stock with a layer of Basic Black behind it.

I’ve added some Suite Season Specialty Washi Tape then a sentiment from Merry Christmas To All, stamped in Cherry Cobbler.  I’ve used the word “Merry”, a Festive Farmhouse Element, and painted it with Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint.  The stars and tree are also Festive Farmhouse Elements.

Marvi didn’t like me showing everyone his big fat tummy last week so he posed for a better photo this week.
