CTC143 – Artistic Expression – Pages 132-181

Stampin' Cat CTC143 Lovely as a Tree

Hello everyone and welcome to another CASEing the Catty Crew Blog Hop.  We are a group of demonstrators who love to take our inspiration from the amazing Stampin’ Up! Catalogues.  Each week we choose a different section of the Catalogue to CASE.  It really makes you look at your catalogue, I mean really look at it.

Last week I shared a picture of the bushfire that had me pack up and leave my house.  My wonderful friend Megan commented that I didn’t show you a picture of my car all packed up.  So here it is.

Bushfire car packed

A girl’s gotta get her priorities right.  Big shot, packed.  Stampin’ Trimmer, packed.  Holiday Catalogue Pre-order, packed.  Pro Hart painting, no room to pack that lol.  Of course Marvi, my feline assistant, was the last thing to go in the car before the police told me to leave.

Anyway…………this week we are CASEing the Artistic Expression section of the catalogue pages 132-181.

I’ve chosen to CASE the card on page 137.

Annual Catalogue page 137

I’ve made two versions of this card.  One using my favourite Wood Textures DSP.

The other version using some new products from the 2017 Holiday catalogue.

Both cards have been stamped with a beautiful tree from Lovely as a Tree Stamp Set.  I’ve heat embossed both of the trees, one in white and one in gold.  The sentiment is from Butterfly Basics.

The new 2017 Holiday Catalogue is live on the 1st of September.  That’s only 5 more sleeps.   Contact me if you’d like a copy.   If Marvi hasn’t eaten them all I’ll post one out.

Now it’s time to click on the next button and head over to Elizabeth’s blog.  I know you’re going to love her card.

CTC142 – Love & Sympathy – Pages 86-101

Hello and welcome to my blog.  It’s CASEing the Catty Sunday Blog Hop time again.  You may have hopped over from Elizabeth or you are starting with me, either way make sure you check out all the Crew’s projects.

I’ve had a very big week this week.  On Monday my sister was hit by a car while riding her push bike.  She’s ok, nothing broken, just very bruised and sore.  And on Friday I had to evacuate from my house because of a bush fire.  Marvi and I stayed at my other sister’s house for the night.  Thankfully everything was ok when I came home Saturday.  Here’s a picture I took at my house about an hour before I left.

This week at CASEing the Catty we are CASEing the Love & Sympathy section of the Catalogue pages 86-101.

CTC142

I only make sympathy cards when I need them.  Sadly I’ve needed two so far this year.  I’ve CASEd the Tranquil Tide card from page 94 of the Annual Catalogue.

Annual Catalogue Page 94

I’ve changed my card into an encouragement card rather than a love & sympathy card.

I’ve used Tranquil Tide and Sahara Sand card stock with some touches of Gold

I love the Delicate White Doily behind the Pretty Label Punch.  The gold leaves are from the Support Ribbon Framelits.

I fussy cut the Tranquil Tide flowers from the Fresh Florals DSP.

I’ve also used the Garden Trellis Embossing Folder.  I think that pattern matches perfectly with the Label Me Pretty stamp.

As usual my assistant Marvi was available for the photo shoot.   He thought he might get a snack if he helped me.

I hope you like my project this week.  Next up is Sandra, her card is just beautiful.

Colour INKspiration Challenge CI15

Colour INKspiration Top 5 Pick

Stampin' Cat CI15 Detailed Dragonfly

Hello and welcome to my blog.  Today’s card is for the Colour Inspiration Challenge CI15.  Our colours are Elegant Eggplant, Bermuda Bay, Lemon Lime Twist and Pool Party. We can also use any neutrals such as Whisper White, Basic Black, Crumb Cake, Sahara Sand and Metallics.

CI15

For my background I’ve used a technique called the “Straw Blowing” Technique.  I’m not really sure if that’s what it’s called but I put drops of Bermuda Bay and Pool Party re-inker on some glossy white card and blew them around through a straw.

This is such a fun technique and the results look fabulous.  My photography doesn’t really do my card justice.

I’ve added a Detailed Dragonfly in Basic Black card stock.  I think the hero of the card is the background so I didn’t want to cover it up too much.

The sentiment is from Banners for You and I’ve used Bunch of Banners Framelits to die cut it.

I hope you like my card today.

Thanks for stopping by.
