#JOS003 Challenge – The Letter “C”

#JOS003

Hi everyone and welcome to my blog.  I received some very exciting news last week.  My shaker card was chosen as the winner of challenge #JOS002 and I get to be a guest designer for #JOS004 challenge.  Woohoo!!!

Today’s card is for The Joy of Sets Challenge #JOS003.  You may use any Stampin’ Up! stamp set, new or retired, but there’s a twist.   There will be a new letter selected each fortnight and that letter must be in the name of the stamp set you use.  For this challenge the letter is “C”.

Now I don’t have many stamp sets with the letter “C” in the name so I’m using a retired set called Sweet Cupcake.

I’ve made a Z fold card using Melon Mambo card stock and retired It’s My Party DSP.  Z fold cards are so easy to make and they look really effective.

Here’s a photo from the top so you can see how it works.

I’ve used the retired Cupcake Cutouts Framelits (try saying that 3 times fast) to die cut the word “Sweet”…..

…..and to die cut the cupcake and candle.  I’ve stamped the cupcake in Pink Pirouette, Blushing Bride and Melon Mambo and adhered part of a Delicate White Doily behind it.

The best thing about a Z fold card is that it folds flat and fits in a standard size C6 envelope.

I hope you like my entry for the challenge.  I love reading your comments.

CTC 140 – For Babies & Kids – Pages 102-111

Hi everyone and welcome to this week’s CASEing the Catty Blog Hop.  It’s been a hectic week of work, crafting and celebrating.  Today my sister and I both celebrate birthdays.  No we are not twins, we were born exactly 2 years apart.  She has still not forgiven me for ruining her second birthday.  I would have thought I was the best birthday present ever.  Who else can say they got a sister for their birthday lol.

Anyway…………..this week we are CASEing the “For Babies & Kids” section of the catalogue.

CTC140

I’ve taken some inspiration from the “Born to be Loved” card on the left hand side of page 102.

Annual Catalogue Page 102

My version of this card is not necessarily a baby card.  It could be for any occasion and that’s the beauty of the Stampin’ Up! Catalogue, change a colour or a sentiment and you have a totally different look.

Stampin' Cat CTC140 Lovely Words

I just love Tranquil Tide and Gold together.  I’ve used Lovely Words Thinlits on Very Vanilla cardstock.

Stampin' Cat CTC140 Lovely Words

I’ve die cut the word “lovely” from Tranquil Tide as well and adhered it over the top of the Very Vanilla word.

The gold flowers and Tranquil Tide leaves are from Bouquet Bunch Framelits and the sentiment “as can be” is from Lovely Inside & Out Stamp Set.

My assistant Marvi was on hand for a photo, with a happier face than last week.  Marvi says thanks for all the kind comments.  I’m sure he thinks it’s all about him and not my cards.

Thanks for hopping along with us today.  Click on the “Next” button and it will take you over to Angela’s super cute card.

Colour INKspiration Challenge CI14

CI14

Hello and welcome to my blog.  Today’s card is for the Colour INKspiration Challenge CI14.  This time our colours are Smoky Slate, Rich Razzleberry, Soft Sky and Night of Navy.   We can also use any neutrals such as Whisper White, Basic Black, Crumb Cake, Sahara Sand and Metallics.

CI14 Marvi

My assistant Marvi thought he could be the next model for the colour palette.  I’m not sure if everyone would like these colours Marvi!!

I decided to try and make a card that looked like a wall of graffiti.  Maybe if you squint a little bit and tilt your head to the left you can see it?

Stampin' Cat CI14 Sunshine Sayings

My card base is Smoky Slate layered with Night of Navy card stock.  I’ve used the Brick Wall Embossing Folder on Soft Sky card stock and stamped a few splotches from Painter’s Palette stamp set in Rich Razzleberry and Night of Navy.

Stampin' Cat CI14 Sunshine Sayings

I’ve die cut a Silver Foil heart and a Rich Razzleberry heart from Sunshine Wishes Thinlits and stamped the flower from Sunshine Sayings stamp set.  Washing Tape from Basics Pack 3 added to my graffiti effect.

Now every wall that has graffiti on it usually has someone confessing their love for that special person in their life.  I’ve used the Labeler Alphabet Stamp Set embossed in silver to show you who I love.

I hope you like my card today.

Thanks for stopping by.
