Welcome back for another week of Social Stamping. This weeks theme is “friend”. You can work your way through the host by clicking on the next button at the bottom of the post or you can click here to go back to Kelly’s post where there’s a list of participants so you can continue your way around.

My friends are so important to me, especially during these crazy times. Because we can’t get together at the moment I’m staying in touch by sending out cards. Sending a paper hug is the next best thing to a real hug.

I’ve used the Free As A Bird stamp set for my card today. The card base is Basic Black with a layer of Whisper White. I’ve then added a layer of Come Sail Away DSP. I love how the black, white and grey make the birds really pop.

I’ve used Soft Suede, Old Olive, Pool Party, Calypso Coral and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends to colour in the stamped image. I’m not sure if you can see it in my picture but I’ve used my Soft Sea Foam Stampin’ Blend all the way around my image just to give the background some subtle colour. The stamped image is layered over a custom made size Stitched So Sweetly Die.

I’ve kept the inside fairly simple with a thin strip of DSP, a coloured flower and sentiment. The sentiments are from the Forever Blossoms stamp set.

My blog post wouldn’t be complete without a picture of my lovely assistant, Marvi. Judging by the look on his face he’s quite impressed by my card this week. Maybe because he loves looking at birds.

Next up is the wonderful Richelle Fletcher. Just click on the “Next” button to hop over to see her beautiful creation.

Social Stamping – Rainbow

Social Stamping

Welcome to my blog, I hope you are having a relaxing Easter long weekend. A fantastic way to relax is to create and I’m sharing another card with the Social Stamping Blog Host, where this weeks theme is Rainbows. You can work your way through the host by clicking on the next button at the bottom of the post or you can click here to go back to Kelly’s post where there’s a list of participants so you can continue your way around.

I can remember way back in Primary School my teacher taught me a really easy way to remember the colours of a rainbow. Using an acronym, my teacher turned it into the boy’s name Roy G Biv. Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo and Violet. Next time you see a rainbow you’ll be thinking “now what was that boy’s name again” lol

Using the Beauty Abounds stamp set and co-ordinating Butterfly Beauty Dies I’ve created an SU colour version of Roy G Biv. Poppy Parade, Grapefruit Grove, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Bermuda Bay, Gorgeous Grape and Highland Heather.

I’ve added a die cut butterfly in each colour to match the stamping.

I’ve also added a few Basic Black butterflies to tie in with the black behind my stamped panel. The sentiment is from Very Versailles.

Next up is the wonderful Shannon Kissane. Just click on the “Next” button to hop over to see her beautiful creation.

Social Stamping – Thank You

#socialstamping

Hello and welcome to my blog and welcome to the Social Stamping Blog Host. The amazing Kelly Kent is hosting a group of stamping friends to connect with each other and with our online friends. We’ll be sharing some creative love in this new world of social distancing and isolation. It’s a wonderful initiative, thanks so much for inviting me to join Kelly.

I wanted to share a new initiative that’s happening in my neighbourhood. Pop a teddy in your window so when out walking with your little ones, you can go on an adventure and look for the teddy’s in peoples windows! I wonder if anyone has seen my teddy’s?

The theme of the host is “Thank You”. You can work your way through the host by clicking on the next button at the bottom of the post or you can click here to go back to Kelly’s post where there’s a list of participants so you can continue your way around.

I’m using my favourite die set (well favourite atm) Poppy Moments.

I’ve used a Thick Whisper White card base with a layer of Soft Sea Foam.

The poppies have four layers. The bottom layer is Whisper White with some Soft Sea Foam ink sponged in the centre. I’ve adhered the second layer with dimensionals to give the white on white some depth. I’ve also added some Whisper White 1/4″ Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon.

The leaves are die cut in Old Olive and Mossy Meadow. I’ve added some Iridescent Sequins to add a touch of bling. The sentiment is from Label Me Pretty and is stamped in Old Olive and Mossy Meadow.

My assistant Marvi was relaxing on his mat but was happy to pose for a quick photo.

I really love all the greens on this card, I hope you like it too.
