Hello and welcome to my blog. This week at CASEing the Catty we’re CASEing a Technique. You may have hopped over from Rebecca’s blog, make sure you visit all the Design Team’s Blogs by clicking on the “next” button at the bottom of the post.

I’ve chosen to CASE a card on page 41 of the catalogue. The technique is to create your own background.

The sample card uses the Playful Packaging stamp set however I’ve used the Nature’s Symphony stamp set.

My card base is Balmy Blue followed by a layer of Basic White. The Basic White layer has been stamped in Old Olive, Pool Party, Pretty Peacock, Lost Lagoon, Peaceful Pine and Balmy Blue. I’ve added a piece of Peaceful Pine Velveteen Specialty Paper which has been die cut along the bottom edge using a die from Gears & Textures Dies. There is also a Balmy Blue piece with a scalloped edge which is from the Lovely Arrangements Dies.

The flowers and butterflies are from the Fern & Flora bundle and have been coloured in Highland Heather and Old Olive Blends. I’ve also added some Baker’s Twine and some Basic Rhinestones.

Marvi was wide awake for the photo today. I had two card making classes today which keeps him pretty busy socialising.
It’s time to hop over and see Julia’s wonderful creation. Just click on the next button below.
