Stampi' Cat CTC198 Hardwood Animal Expedition Stampin' Up!

I’ve made a big decision this week.  I missed out on On Stage in Brisbane and I was 18th on the waiting list so I’ve decided to go to On Stage in Auckland, even though I plan to go there next year as well.   I’ve registered for Auckland, while they still had spots available and before the cut off date of the 25th of September.  Now all I need to do is book flights and accommodation, too easy.  I’m looking forward to meeting some of my fellow NZ CTC Crew members.

Welcome to another CASEing the Catty Blog Hop.  This week our inspiration comes from the Frosted Floral section, pages 36-41 of the 2018 Holiday Catalogue.   You may have arrived here from Julia’s gorgeous creation, thanks for continuing on with me.  Make sure you visit all the Design Team’s Blogs by clicking on the “next” button at the bottom of each post.

I couldn’t decide on which lovely card to CASE from this section.  A technique, rather than a card, on page 40 caught my eye.

I’ve CASEd the blended background using an Aqua Painter then I’ve put a bit of an Aussie spin on it using a Kangaroo die cut from Animal Expedition DSP.

My card base is Basic Black followed by a layer a Grey Granite which has been stamped with the Hardwood background stamp using Sahara Sand Ink.  I’ve used Shimmery White card stock and my Aqua Painter to colour the oval with Blueberry Bushel and Tranquil Tide.  Then I’ve used some Wink of Stella over the oval for some added shine.

The sentiment is from the Merry Christmas To All Stamp Set and is stamped in Real Red Ink.  I’ve also used the co-ordinating dies, Merry Christmas Thinlits.  There’s some Burlap Ribbon and some Real Red 1/8″ Solid Ribbon behind the oval.  The Santa Hat is from the Santa’s Workshop Memories & More Card Pack.

My assistant, Marvi, was on hand for the photos.  I guess that’s what happens when you photograph your cards on the floor lol.

That’s a better pose Marvi.
