Hello and welcome to my blog. This week at CASEing the Catty we are CASEing a Leaf or Tree Project from the Mini Catalogue. You may have hopped over fromĀ Julia’sĀ blog, make sure you visit all the Design Teamās Blogs by clicking on the ānextā button at the bottom of each post.
I’ve CASEd the “I thought of you today” card on page 49. I really like how they’ve used the negative of the die cut on this card.
I’ve changed the size and colours, making my cards 10.5cm square, but have used the negative of the die cut as the original card does.
I’ve made three versions of the same card, using the three different patterns of Plush Poinsettia Specialty Paper. All cards have a base of Crumb Cake with a layer of Plush Poinsettia.
The third layer is Pool Party and I’ve randomly stamped “Ho Ho Ho” in Versamark all over this piece before embossing it with the Subtle Embossing Folder.
I’ve used the Peace & Joy stamp set to White Heat Emboss the words “Merry Christmas” on some Poppy Parade card stock.
I’ve finished the cards off with a few Woven Threads Sequins. Which one is your favourite?
Marvi doesn’t appear to have a favourite, secretly I think he likes them all.
Itās time to hop over and seeĀ Sandra’sĀ wonderful creation. Just click on the next button below.
Thanks for stopping by.
Three gorgeous cards! I love the soft colours and all the texture on the cards.
This is a brilliant idea for Christmas cards – great layout for many cards and I love it with the Gleaming Ornaments!! So clever.
The sequins and the splash of red for the sentiment looks great. I think the first one is my favourite with the swirly design poking through the bauble negative space.
Hi Peta, I like all 3 of your bauble cards. I’m a less is more sort of person, I have never heard of plush poinsettia paper,( I have now lived in Nottingham UK for 50 years, after been born and bred in Adelaide Sth. Australia) so don’t know even if you can get it here. I was thinking perhaps I could find some type of paper and emboss it? Cheers and thankyou Marilyn.
Hi Marilyn, if there is a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator in your area you can order some Plush Poinsettia paper through them. Thank you so much for leaving a comment.
Peta
Thankyou Peta. Cheers Marilyn.
Using the negative is such a cool idea and I love the way this vellum works underneath – the texture is fabulous.
They are all so wonderful! I love the subtle ho ho ho over the card fronts. If I had to pick a favourite, I’d choose the first, but only because that’s my favourite of the poinsettia papers.
