Hello and welcome to my blog. This week at CASEing the Catty we are CASEing the colours of Sand & Sea DSP. The colours are Blushing Bride, Flirty Flamingo, Melon Mambo, Sahara Sand, Seaside Spray and So Saffron.
You may have hopped over from Rebecca’s blog, make sure you visit all the Design Team’s Blogs by clicking on the “next” button at the bottom of each post.
I’ve chosen to CASE the card in the bottom left of the above graphic.
My card base is Sahara Sand and I’ve stamped that with the little dots from the Friends Are Like Seashells stamp set. Next I’ve cut five pieces of Sand & Sea DSP and layered them over the top of one another. I’ve used the Stitched So Sweetly Dies to make a custom size rectangle in Whisper White.
For the shells I decided to make my own Pearlescent Specialty Paper by using a Blending Brush, Frost White Shimmer Paint and some card stock in Sahara Sand, Flirty Flamingo and Seaside Spray. Then I White Heat Embossed the stamped image onto my Pearlescent Paper, die cut my images then embossed them with the Seashells 3D Embossing Folder. They look so shimmery in real life. I had a scrap of Flirty Flamingo left over so I White Heat Embossed my greeting as well.
I had to wake Mr Marvi up from his cat nap for this picture. He looks a little sleepy but I think he liked my card.
It’s time to hop over and see Rachel’s wonderful creation. Just click on the next button below.
Your frosted shells are perfect Peta. Good idea to case a layout as well. Marvi does seem very pleased with your efforts and I’d have to agree with him 🙂
Marvi looks very relaxed there. Great card, love all of the elements and the handmade pearlescent paper is perfect for the shells.
Marvi, you are so handsome!! I love the shimmery goodness on your card! So many pretty details.
The layered dsp is a great background for those lovely shells
I love what you have done with the strips of DSP and the pearlescent paper makes the shells oh so beautiful
Your card is so pretty! The pearlescent paper looks amazing! I love the DSP that you’ve used in the background, too. It’s gorgeous.
Oh! the shimmer is soooo amazing and gorgeous. And I really like the overlapped papers as well – this is a brilliant idea for using all the left over pieces! Great card – and the shells are extraordinarily beautiful!
