Hello and welcome to my blog. We’re CASEing from the Annual Catalogue this week, the Artistic Expressions section, pages 90-119. You may have hopped over from Julia’s blog, make sure you visit all the Design Team’s Blogs by clicking on the “next” button at the bottom of the post.
There’s a lot to choose from in the Artistic Expressions section however I decided on the cute little “happy birthday” card in the top left of page 110.
The sample card is very cute and perfect for a beginner however I’ve stepped up my version, so it looks a little different.
My card base is Sahara Sand followed by a layer of Pear Pizzazz then a layer of Basic White. I’ve used the Layering Circles Dies to die cut the bear directly from the Happy Forest Friends DSP. The Sahara Sand circles are from the Painted Labels Dies and I’ve trimmed the solid circle piece out of the middle so you can see the bear. The Pear Pizzazz leaves are die cut using the Forever Flourishing Dies.
I’ve fussy cut the Owl, Fox and Bird from the DSP and added them to my card as well. The sentiment is White Heat Embossed on Calypso Coral card stock and is from the Go To Greetings stamp set. I’ve added a few For Everything Fancy Sequins to complete my card.
Marvi was just laying around having a cat nap. He seems to like posing with my cards because he sat up nicely when I placed my card next to him. He knows he’ll get a treat if he’s good.
