CTC Sunday Challenge

Hello and welcome to my blog. This week at CASEing the Catty we’re CASEing a Technique from the 2025-2026 Annual Catalogue. You may have hopped over from Rebecca’s blog, make sure you visit all the Design Team’s Blogs by clicking on the “next” button at the bottom of the post.

The technique I’ve CASEd is making a chunky background by inking a block, spritzing it with water and stamping it onto some Fluid 100 Watercolour Paper.

I’ve CASEd the card on the far left of the above graphic, changing the colours and adding in an extra technique.

My card base is Pretty Peacock, a Wildflower Birthday SDSP banner, Gold Foil Sheet then the Fluid 100 Watercolour paper. I’ve used Clear Block “C” to create the background using Pretty Peacock and Lost lagoon ink. The leaf image is from the Thoughtful Wishes stamp set and is stamped in Memento Black ink.

I’ve added some Gold Heat Embossed splotches using a stamp from the Elements of Text stamp set. The sentiment is also Gold Heat Embossed and is from the Unbounded Love stamp set. A few Pretty Peacock Foiled Gems finished off my card nicely.

My extra technique is the flower image stamped on my background splotches. I don’t think I invented this technique, it was more like I discovered it accidentally. The flower stamp is from the Round We Go stamp set. I put the stamp on a block then spritzed it with some Stampin’ Mist then stamped it over my background splotches. The Stampin’ Mist kind of removes some of the ink to show the stamped image. That’s what the Stampin’ Mist does, cleans the ink off our stamps, so why not “clean” the stamped ink off too.

Marvi was less than impressed with my technique, he barely opened his eyes for a photo today. He was too busy cat napping on the outdoor lounge.

It’s time to hop over and see Monique’s wonderful creation. Just click on the next button below.
