Hello and welcome to my blog. This week at CASEing the Catty we are CASEing the technique, embossing. This could be either embossing with embossing powder or embossing with embossing folders. I’ve CASEd the Ombre Gift Bag on page 28-29 of the Annual Catty but I’ve made my version into a card.
Instead of using the Pansy Petals Suite I’ve used the Sweet Symmetry Suite.
My card base is Night of Navy followed by a layer of Basic White. I’ve then used the checks folder from the Checks & Dots Embossing Folder 2 pack, to emboss some Pale Papaya In Colour Shimmer Vellum. This vellum is so shimmery it’s difficult to capture it in my photos.
I’ve used some Sweet Symmetry DSP and stamped the flower from the In Symmetry stamp set in Night of Navy, Calypso Coral and Pale Papaya. The sentiment is from the Timeless Tulips stamp set. I’ve added some Elegant Faceted Gems and some Whisper White 1/4″ Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon.
Marvi is just loving the sun on his belly in this cooler Queensland weather. It’s hard to get a good photo of him posing with my card. His belly is looking particularly Pale Papaya today lol.

Ooooh, I love everything about this card! The colours, the stamp set, the shimmer! I was on the fence with this stamp set, and I think you’ve just tipped me over to ‘must have’.

I hadn’t noticed this embossing folder, but what an impact it has on the shimmer vellum. Very cute.
