Hello and welcome to my blog. It’s been another busy week in the stampincat household. Last weekend I went shopping for a new bed, I took my sister with me as she was looking to buy a new lounge. We went to the local Homemaker Centre where all the retailers sell furniture. I found the perfect bed with matching bedside tables and dresser, so then we looked at lounges. While looking at the lounges I fell in love with a TV unit, buffet and coffee table. I ended up buying 7 pieces of furniture, my sister is still looking for a lounge. All the furniture arrived yesterday and I spent all day moving my old furniture out to the garage and unpacking all my new goodies. My sister helped, I think it was only fair as I wouldn’t have purchased the extra furniture if I didn’t look at the lounges lol.

Here’s a breakdown of the sketch.

I’ve made my CASE a Christmas card using the Poinsettia Petals Bundle.

I’ve started with a Crumb Cake card base then added a couple of Square Vellum Doilies then a Whisper White layer. My Poinsettias are Gold Heat Embossed on Real Red card stock, the leaves are Garden Green.

I’ve added some Gold Foil sprigs and flower centres. The sentiment is from the Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set and is die cut with an Ornate Frames Die. The Boho Indigo gold ribbon finishes my card off nicely.

Marvi’s not quite sure about all the new furniture but he’s enjoying playing with all the packaging it came in. He’s given my card the Marvi paw of approval.

Hello and welcome to my blog. This week at CASEing the Catty we are CASEing from pages 71-75 of the 2020 Mini Catty. This section of the Catty shows you all the bundles Stampin’ Up! offers, at a glance. I refer to this section of the Catty all the time, it’s such a handy resource.

I really liked the simplicity of the “Coming Home” card on page 72. I’ve kept the layout very similar but added a bit more bling.

I don’t own this bundle or the embossing folder they’ve used on this card, but that doesn’t matter. That’s the beauty of CASEing the Catty, you use what you have and draw inspiration from the samples in the Catty.

I’ve started with a Purple Posy card base followed by layers of Seaside Spray and Snowflake Splendor DSP. The snowflakes in the DSP replace the Winter Snow Embossing Folder. I’ve used the Snow Globe Scenes Dies to create the Seaside Spray half circle then stamped my sentiment in Night of Navy.

I’ve used the same dies to die cut the trees in Balmy Blue Glimmer Paper and retired Silver Glimmer Paper. The reindeer is die cut from Silver Foil card. I’ve added a few Snowflake Sequins to add that extra little bit of bling.

Mr Marvi was literally flat out doing nothing so I took a quick picture before he decided he’d like to try and rip the reindeer off my card.

Hello and welcome to my blog. How’s your weekend been? I’m just home from an extended long weekend away with my family. Yesterday was my Dad’s 90th birthday and to celebrate we rented a 5 bedroom house, near Eumundi, for 3 nights. We all had the best weekend. Dad loved his Colllingwood birthday cake even though Collingwood didn’t make the finals this year.

This week at CASEing the Catty we are CASEing the colours of the Plaid Tidings DSP. The colours are Basic Black, Blackberry Bliss, Bumblebee, Cajun Craze, Cherry Cobbler, Cinnamon Cider, Crumb Cake, Mango Medley, Melon Mambo, Misty Moonlight, Pretty Peacock, Pumpkin Pie, Rich Razzleberry, Seaside Spray, Shaded Spruce and Whisper White. Now that’s a lot of colours but we don’t expect you to use them all. I’ve chosen to use four of the colours in my card today. Crumb Cake, Pretty Peacock, Cajun Craze and Blackberry Bliss. I’ve also CASEd the technique from the top card on page 55 of the Annual Catalogue.

For the catalogue sample they’ve used the Hinge-Step Technique with the Stamparatus. I’ve made a slight variation to the technique.

I’ve stamped the snowflake image from Borders Abound stamp set three times using the Hinge-Step Technique. I’ve then spritzed it with water and waited for it to dry. Then I’ve stamped the same stamp in the spaces in-between. It’s quite an interesting effect for a background.

I’ve used the retired Owl punch to make my reindeer. His “antlers” are leaves from the In Good Taste Elements and I’ve added some Wink of Stella to them. It’s a bit difficult to capture the sparkle on them in my photo.

Marvi was a bit upset with me for leaving him home alone for 3 days. My wonderful neighbours fed him for me while I was gone. Apparently he threw himself on the floor when they arrived and wanted a belly rub each morning and night.
