Hello and welcome to my blog. I hope everyone has had a good week and managed to get some crafting done. Christmas will be here before we know it, have you started making your Christmas cards yet?
This week at CASEing the Catty we are CASEing a Halloween Project. You may have hopped over from Rebecca’s blog, make sure you visit all the Design Team’s Blogs by clicking on the “next” button at the bottom of each post.
I’ve used the “Happy Haunting” card on page 56 as my inspiration. I thought the diagonal DSP strips looked great.
I cheated a little and used some Forever Greenery DSP and cut it on the diagonal to get the same effect.
My card base is Pretty Peacock with layers of Real Red and Whisper White. Then I’ve got my DSP layer and a gorgeous laser cut floral piece from the Forever Gold Laser-Cut Specialty Paper. These are just amazing and can be found on page 152 of the Annual Catalogue.
I’ve Gold heat embossed a sentiment from the Arrange A Wreath stamp set then die cut it with the Ornate Frames Dies. I’ve added a few Red Foil leaves to tie in with the Real Red card stock.
It’s time to hop over and see Rachel’s wonderful creation. Just click on the next button below.

Wow, that’s stunning! I love how the touch of red really makes it pop!
Oh my goodness – what a great idea to use the stripey DSP!! Love love love! When I first saw your card, I really thought wow there’s so much work here and I love that you found a great way to do this! The gold foil with the red foil are so glorious together.
Great CASE and lovely colour combo, Peta. Very clever to use the striped DSP for this layout.
Lovely use of the gold laser cut paper Peta. Looks fabulous with the diagonal dsp. I like how all the elements tie back to another layer to balance it perfectly.
I absolutely love the way that DSP looks cut on the diagonal- I am totally CASE-ing that!! This is a gorgeous card, I love the gold foil in the centre and that little pop of red is just perfect. Fabulous card!!
I love how you have cut the DSP on a diagonal and the multiple layers under the sentiment really make it pop.
Simply stunning – I love your combination of colours. A beautiful card
I’m in favour of this kind of cheating, especially when it produces such a wonderful card! The striped DSP looks great on an angle, and I love the layering you’ve done over the top.
WOW! Such a great card, and yet you’ve been able to use some good shortcuts to get this result.
